Menocramp Tablet: Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side Effects

Menocramp Tablet is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by
Solumiks Herbaceuticals Limited. It is used in the treatment of painful menstruation. It relieves spasm and deletes pain.

Dysmenorrhea is a very commonly occurring condition and about 25-50% of females are affected by it in late teens and early twenties. The exact cause is unknown. Uterine rigidity is considered to be one of the reasons. About 8-13 % of females, in the above mentioned age group are affected with very severe pain causing abstinence from work.

Menocramp is a comprehensive formula in the management of dysmenorrhea and premenstrual syndrome.

Indication

Dysmenorrhea
Premenstrual syndrome -PMS

Dosage

In dysmenorrhea – 1 tablet thrice a day for 3 – 5 days, or as directed by the physician.
In pre-menstrual syndrome – 1 tablet thrice a day, to be started 7-8 days before the onset of menstruation and to be continued throughout the periods, or as directed by the physician.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice. 

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Ingredients

Each coated tablet contains extracts of –
Lodhra – Symplocos racemosa – 75 mg – It is extensively used in female gynecological conditions like heavy periods etc.
Asoka – Saraca indica – 75 mg – Useful in bleeding diseases.
Ashwagandha – Indian ginseng – Withania somnifera – 75 mg – It improves strength and immunity.
Haritaki – Chebulic myrobalan – Terminalia chebula – 75 mg
Parasika yavani – Hyoscyamus niger – 50 mg – Because of its narcotic effect it relieves pain.
Jatamamsi – Spikenard – Nardostachys jatamansi – 50 mg – It improves brain functions and purifies blood.
Powders of –
Shodhita Guggulu – Commiphora mukul – 100 mg
Processed in decoctions of –
Dashamoola – Group of 10 drugs.
Eranda moola – Castor root – Ricinus communis – It is best for balancing Vata dosha.
Kumari – Aloe vera – Aloe barbadensis – It improves ovulation chances and induces menstruation.
Shunti – Ginger – Zingiber officinale

Side effects of Menocramp Tablet

There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
