Pilex Ointment is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Himalaya Drug Company. It is mainly used in the treatment of internal and external hemorrhoids.

Can it completely cure piles?
It is useful to reduce swelling, inflammation, itching and pain. It even shrinks the pile mass to some extent. But piles cannot be cured only with this ointment application.
One may need oral Ayruvedic medicines for piles as well.

Dosage:
Apply before and after evacuation of the bowel with the help of the applicator. Wash the applicator with soap and warm water thoroughly, and keep it dry for reuse.
For best result, always recommended Pilex tablet and Pilex ointment in combination.

Lajjalu – Mimosa pudica – 5% – Used mainly in the treatment of wounds, piles, uterine prolapse, diarrhea.
Bhringaraja – Eclipta alba – 3%
Zergul – Calendula officinalis – 2%
Karpoora – Cinnamomum camphora – 1.225%
Tankana – Borax – 1%
Yashada bhasma – Calx of zinc – 1% – Helps fast healing of wound.
Base q.s add 100%
Processed in Nimba – Melia azadirachta
Katvanga – Ailanthus excelsa
Kukundara – Blumea balsamifera– Used in piles, heals wound, oral ulcers, headache, rhinitis etc
Bhringaraja – Eclipta alba
Lasuna – Allium ascalonicum
Vacha – Acorus calamus
Kakmachi – Solanum nirgum

Side effects
Pilex Ointment Side effects:
There are no known side effects with this medicine.
This product is meant only for external application.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy.
Avoid accidental oral intake.
This product can be safely used during lactation period and in children for a limited period of few weeks time.
How long does it take to start showing results?
Depends on the dosage and other products suggested with this. Usually 1 – 2 weeks time.
Can this be applied without consulting a doctor?
No. In many cases, this product alone might not work. More often this is given in combination with a few Ayurvedic medicines. Your Ayurveda practitioner will be the best judge to decide on those things.
