Vishesha Amalaka Ghrita Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Experience

Amalaki – Indian gooseberry is the universally accepted anti ageing herb. It is brought into practice in various dosage forms like herbal powders, jams, arishta, herbal oils etc.  Its ghee preparation is gaining world wide acceptance not mere for therapeutic benefits but also for health promotion even in the healthy people.

The people who are accustomed to use ghee in routine along with food also started to opt medicated ghee prepared with goose berries so as to get the added benefits out of it.

Here is a simple method of preparing Amla ghee at home, with easy to find ingredients.

Contents

Ingredients:
Amalaki –Gooseberry – Emblica officinalis
– swarasa(fresh juice) – 240ml
Rejuvinative, antacid/ alkalizer, immuno modulator, haemetenic, diuretic, coolant

Ikshurasa – (Sugar cane juice) – 240ml – Diuretic, energizer, replenisher, coolant

Hareetaki – Terminalia chebula – Fruit rind – Decoction – 240 ml
Laxative, anti flatulent, anti spasmodic, anti oxidant

Go Ghrita(Cow’s ghee) – 180 ml
Lipophilic, memory enhancer, carminative, energizer, natural detox

Method of preparation


As per the text no Kalka drugs(medicated paste) are referred.
As a custom we can add ¼ part of Amalaki kalka and ghee can be processed as per the classical method of processing the ghee.

Ghee is warmed and fine paste of Amalaki is added and mixed well. Rest of the three liquids are added and ghee is cooked in mild intensity of heat till the whole content is free from moisture/water content.
Then it is filtered and stored.

Dose and duration

Dose: 5 – 10 gram it is used in adults.
In children below the age of 12 years 5 gram can be advised.
For the kids of 1 – 3 years 1 – 2 gram may be given along with food.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Indications

Vehicles and indications:
For rejuvenation purpose this can be taken daily morning along with the breakfast like Dosa, Idly, Vada, Upma, Chapati, Roti, Uttappam etc.This will not allow to increase Vata or Pitta dosha in the body.So especially the people who are of Vata pitta constitution or during the seasons when Vata and Pitta are aggravated this can be taken.

Further those who are accustomed to take ghee with lunch/rice etc will get the added benefits of ghee like enhancing effect of skin glow, memory power, softness of the skin etc. In addition the people who are prone for gastric disturbances like gastric irritation, regurgitation, gurgling of abdomen etc will far better by this ghee as it prevents from such kind of abdominal disturbances.
