Gastromone Tablet Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side Effects

Gastromone Tablet is a proprietary Ayuvredic medicine manufactured by J & J DeChane Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. It is used in the treatment of flatulence and nervous dyspepsia. It is a herbal drug for gastro-intestinal disorders. Its biphasic action is useful in both hyper-acidity & hypo-acidity. 

Indications

Weak digestion
Flatulence
Nervous dyspepsia
Disordered functioning of liver

Pharmacology

Pharmacology of Gastromone Tablet:
In small doses Revandchini and Haritaki act as astringent, bitter and are useful in diarrhea.
Mishreya is useful in deficiency of gastric juices in dyspepsia and intestinal irritation.
Katuki is used in acidity, bilious dyspepsia, indigestion & loss of appetite.
Balatagara is stomachic.
Haridra is aromatic, carminative and anthelmintic.

Ashwagandha is tonic.
Vanaila, Chitrka, Dhanyaka, Bringaraja, Ajamoda, Pippali, Shunti and Jeeraka are very good digestives, carminatives and stomachics.

Dosage

Dosage of Gastromone Tablet:
Adults – 1-2 tablets 10-20 min before or immediately after meals.
Children – ¼-1/2 tablet before or immediately after meals.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice.

Ingredients of Gastromone Tablet:
Each uncoated tablet contains –
Amalaki – Embelica officinalis – 25 mg
Mishreya – Foeniculum vulgare – 31 mg
Revandchini – Rheum modi – 20 mg
Haritaki  -Terminalia chebula – 15 mg
Balatagara  – Valeriana wallichii – 24 mg – Tagara- Valeriana wallichii is a plant described in Ayurveda for the treatment of wounds, arthritis, cough, asthma, general debility, skin diseases, fever and cases of animal bite.
Chitraka – Plumbago zeylanica – 20 mg
Talisapatra – Abies webbiana – 8 mg
Papaya – Carica papaya – 7 mg
Katuki – Picrorrhiza kurroa – 5 mg

Vanaila – Amomum subutalum – 2 mg – Black cardamom is also known as greater cardamom and Brihad ela in Sanskrit. Botanically, Amomum subulatum is a herb mentioned in Ayurveda for the treatment of pain, to eradicate bad odor, increase the appetite, treat skin diseases, nausea.
Chiratatikta – Swertia chirayita – 5 mg
Dhanyaka – Coriandrum sativum – 2 mg
Bringaraja – Eclipta alba – 20 mg
Haridra – Curcuma longa – 22 mg
Shunti – Zingiber officinale – 5 mg
Ajamoda – Ptychotis ajowan – 8 mg
Pippali – Piper longum – 2.5 mg
Jeeraka – Cuminum cyminum –  2.5 mg
Ashwagandha – Withania somnifera – 2.5 mg

Side effects

Side effects of Gastromone Tablet:
There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy.
This product can be safely used during lactation period and in children for a limited period of few weeks time.
