Feverex Syrup: Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side Effects

Feverex Syrup is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Shree Dhanwantari Herbals. It is a herbal remedy for pyrexia. Feverex Syrup causes vasodilation by increasing the blood flow in superficial vasculature and reduces the body temperature by sweating and evaporation. It is non-toxic, safe and herbal remedy.  

Indications

Indication of Feverex Syrup:
Fever associated with influenza
Pyrexia of malarial, viral or bacterial origin

Dosage

Dosage of Feverex Syrup:
Adults – 2-3 tsp thrice a day.
Children – 1-2 tsp thrice a day.
Infants – ½ tsp thrice a day.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice.

Ingredients of Feverex Syrup:
Each 5 ml contains extracts of –
Kiratatikta – Swertia chirayita – 200 mg
Guduchi – Tinospora cordifolia  200 mg
Saptaparna – Alstonia scholaris – 200 mg
Chincha – Tamarindus indicus – 100 mg
Parpata – Fumaria indica – 100 mg
Sphatika – Potash alum – 100 mg
Tulasi – Ocimum sanctum – 100 mg – Tulsi, Holy Basil – The plant with an auspicious name has medicinal usage extending from reducing ill effects of radiotherapy of cancer to maintaining Brahmacharya – Celibacy.
Vatsanabha – Aconitum ferox – 50 mg

Rasona – Allium sativum – 50 mg – Garlic is anti aging spice. It is hot, cleansing, cardiac tonic, digestive, good for eyes, improves hair strength and quality, useful in cough, asthma etc.
Jeevanti – Leptadenia reticulata – 50 mg
Kalamegha – Andrographis paniculata – 50 mg
Punarnava – Boerhaavia diffusa –  50 mg
Tankana – Borax – 50 mg – Tankan Bhasma is a special Ayurvedic medicine prepared from Borax. It is used in Ayurvedic treatment of lack of menstruation, cough, bronchitis etc
Sugar – q.s.

Side effects

Side effects of Feverex Syrup:
There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
This product is not suitable for diabetic people.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy.
This product can be safely used during lactation period and in children for a limited period of few weeks time.
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are diabetic. In diabetic patients, only if the blood sugar is under good control, then this medicine can be given.
