Femiforte Tablet: Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side Effects

Femiforte Tablet is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Charak Pharmaceuticals. It is a safe & effective approach for leucorrhoea (white discharge).  

Normally vaginal discharge is clear or white. A change in the colour or amount of discharge, along with other symptoms like burning, itching and malodour, may indicate that you have an infection. Malnutrition, poor hygiene further impairs host response, increasing susceptibility to vaginal infection and inflammation leading excessive vaginal discharge. Femiforte Tablets are used for the treatment of leucorrhoea of infectious origin.

Indications

Indication of Femifore Tablet:
Excessive vaginal discharge due to fungal/bacterial/protozoal infections.
Abnormal/excessive vaginal discharge associated with pregnancy.
Recurrent vaginitis.

Dose

Dosage of Femiforte Tablet:
1 tablet twice a day for 4-6 weeks.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice.

Asoka twak – Saraca indica – 50 mg
Triphala – Embelica officinalis, Terminalia chebula, Terminalia bellerica – 30 mg
Vasaka – Adathoda vasica – 30 mg
Jeeraka – Cuminum cyminum – 10 mg – Cumin seeds

Kukkutandatwak bhasma – 10 mg
Shuddhasphatika – Potash alum – 10 mg
Shuddhashilajitu – Asphaltum – 10 mg
Chandana – Santalum album – 5 mg
Chopachini – Smilax chinensis – 5 mg – Chopachini Smilax glabra / Smilax china is a plant mentioned for the treatment of cancer, syphilis, skin diseases, constipation, urine retention, disease of joint etc. It is known as Dvipantara Vacha and Madhusnuhi.

Kankola – Piper cubeba – 5 mg
Loha bhasma – 5 mg
Mandura bhasma – 5 mg
Muktashukti bhasma – 5 mg

Do’s and Don’ts

Do’s:-
A brisk walk in the morning is advised.
Sanitary & hygienic measures should be followed.
Intake of supari -areca nut after taking food is very useful.
Wear comfortably fitting panties and also preferably cotton one’s tp ensure air circulation.
Clear affected area twice a day with water.

Don’ts:-
Avoid fried & spicy food recipes.
Avoid fasting.
Avoid sour things specially pickles & curds.
Avoid sex during the attack of the disease.
Reduce anxiety & stress.

Side Effects

Side effects of Femiforte Tablet:
There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy.
This product can be safely used during lactation period and in children for a limited period of few weeks time.
