Sooranamritham Liquid – Benefits, Dosage, Ingredients, Side Effects

Sooranamritham Liquid is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine, manufactured by Mukthi Pharma, Trivendrum. It is used in the treatment of piles. 

Uses

Sooranamritham Liquid uses:
As per the claims of manufacturer, it is indicated in Ayurvedic treatment of bleeding and non bleeding types of hemorrhoids and constipation.

Effect on dosha

Effect on Tridosha – Balances Vata and Pitta.

Dose and duration of use

Sooranamritham Liquid Dose:
1 teaspoonful, 2 times a day, or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor.

How long to take?
It can be taken for upto 1-2  months, based on doctor’s advice.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Each 100 ml contains 
Arisaemia tortuosum – 4 g
Kutaja – Holarrhena antidysenterica – 4 g
Shunti – Ginger (rhizome) – Zingiber officinalis – 500 mg
Pippali – Long pepper – Piper longum – 500 mg
Amalaki -Indian Gooseberry- Emblica officinalis / Phyllanthus emblica – 500 mg
Piper silvaticum – 500 mg
Bhallataka – Purified Semecarpus anacordium – 500 mg
Haritaki – Chebulic Myrobalan (fruit rind) – Terminalia chebula – 500 mg
Patra – Cinnamomum tamala – 500 mg
Vibhitaki – Belliric Myrobalan – Terminalia bellirica – 500 mg
Vidanga – False black pepper (fruit) – Embelia ribes – 500 mg
Plumbago rosea – 1 g
Curculigo zeylanicum – 1 g
Twak – Cinnamon – Cinnamomum zeylanicum – 240 mg
Ela – Cardamom – Elettaria cardamomum – 240 mg 
Maricha – Black pepper – Piper nigrum – 250 mg
Jaggery – 84.78 g

Side effects and precautions

Side effects and precautions: 
It contains Bhallataka. Hence this medicine should only be taken under strict medical supervision.
This is not suitable for diabetic patients.
Special precaution is needed while prescribing this medicine to children, pregnant and lactating mothers.
This product should be used only under strict medical supervision.
over-dosage may cause slight burning sensation in stomach and diarrhoea/
Store in a cool dry place.
Use this medicine only till the prescribed time, in the prescribed dose only.
