Triphaladi Churnam – Benefits, How To Use, Dosage, Ingredients

Triphaladi Churnam is an Ayurvedic medicine, used in treating eye diseases and non healing wounds. It is used both internally and externally. 

Benefits


It has excellent healing power. It is widely used in all types of wounds and ulcers. Water boiled with this powder can be used for dhara (pouring over the area) for quick healing of unhealthy wounds, nonhealing wounds, ulcers and in allergic manifestations of the eye. It is specifically recommended for protection of eyes.

Effect on Tridosha – Balances Vata and Kapha

Dosage

For external application – it is made into decoction with water and that water is used to wash the wounds and ulcers.

Internally, it is used in a dose of  3 –  5 grams once or twice a day before or after food as directed by Ayurvedic doctor.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Side Effects

There are no known side effects with this product.

But pregnant ladies should avoid oral intake of this product.

Triphala –

  • Haritaki – Terminalia chebula
  • Vibhitaki – Terminalia bellirica
  • Amalaki – Emblica officinalis
  • and Yashtimadhu – Locrice – Glycyrrhiza glabra

      TRIPHALA CHURNA – This should be taken regularly to remove the constipation. It should be taken with lukewarm water before going to bed.

  1. Thank you Doctor for the reply. So first i need to use Churnam and if symptoms are not coming under control then do i need to use Allopathic medicine along with Churnam? I got confused here please help me by clearing confusion. Thanks in Advance
