Alka 5 Syrup facilitates the passage of urinary calculi by diuretic, anti—inflammatory and analgesic properties.

Ingredients
Ingredients of Alka 5 Syrup:
Each 5 ml of syrup contains powders of –
- Yavakshara [Hordeum vulgare] – urine alkaliser, mild diuretic, reduces irritation of bladder & urinary passages.- 37.5 mg – Yavakshara is an Ayurvedic medicine, used in treating urinary diseases, abdominal pain, bloating, etc . It is also used as ingredient in many medicines. Yava kshara alkali preparation made with whole plant of barley (botanical name – Hordeum vulgare).
- Shwetha parpati – diuretic & anti-inflammatory.- 125 mg – It is a traditional Ayurvedic medicine prepared from Surya Kshara (Kalami sora / Soraka) – Purified Potassium nitrate,
Sphatika – Purified Potash Alum and Navasadara – Purified Ammonium chloride. - Extracts of –
Gokshura [Tribulus terrestris] – diuretic, lithotriptic & anti-inflammatory.- 250 mg
Dhanyaka [Coriandrum sativum] – diuretic, refrigerant, stimulant & anti-bacterial.- 160 mg
Jeeraka [Cuminum cyminum] – anti-spasmodic & anti-microbial.- 100 mg

Indication
Indication of Alka 5 Syrup:
Urinary tract infection.
As renal alkaliser.
Dose
Dosage of Alka 5 Syrup:
Adults- 10-15 ml 2-3 times a day.
Children – 5 ml 2-3 times a day.
With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.
Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.
With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Do’s:-
- Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
- Consume fresh fruits & vegetables.
- Consumption of mug, wheat, barley & ginger g=juice is recommended.
- Stay indoors in summer/hot days.
- Drink coconut water as natural source of nutrient.
Don’ts:-
- Avoid fried & spicy food.
- Reduce the consumption of beans, pulses, lady’s finger & tomatoes.
- Avoid suppression of natural urge of urination.
- Avoid sedentary life style.

Side effects of Alka5 Syrup:
- There are no recorded side effects with this medicine.
- It is best administered under medical supervision.
- Store in a cool dry place, in an air tight container.
- Keep out of reach and sight of children.
- Avoid it in diabetic patients.

Hello Sir,
Which component in Alka-5 makes it unsuitable for diabetic patients?
My Mother is Diabetic and CKD patient and has pedal edema. One of Ayurvedic doctors, have prescribed this medicine for 2 tea spoons in morning and 2 tea spoons in night. Is this safe?
