Slightly heat oil if needed and take them on to tips of fingers. Rub on the scalp, trying to reach the root of the hair. Leave on 1 hour before the head bath for maximum benefits.
How to wash off the
hair oil?
Wait for at least 30 minutes
before washing hair. Longer the delay, better (except for very oily hairs). It
is best to use herbal hair wash powders to wash off the hair oil. One or two
rounds of wash with hair wash powder will get rid off oil from hair. It is very
fine, even if some amount of oiliness remains on the hair.
Traditional treatises mention cold water to wash hair and face. (Reference:
Ashtanga Sangraha, Sutrasthana, Dinacharya chapter). But to wash oily hair,
lukewarm water can also be used. Avoid very hot water for hair wash.

Can nimbadi thailam used for lice in children? If not suggest ayurvedic anti-lice treatment. Thanks
As a child (between birth and 4 years of age) my son used to suffer from some skin ailment and breathing difficulty. He would start coughing with heavy breathing unable to sleep. An Ayurvedic doctor prescribed Nimba thailam to him. The method of use was this: Warm up a teaspoon and add a few drops of Nimba thailam to the spoon. Apply the warm oil on his chest.
This treatment used to work like a miracle. He would almost immediately stop coughing and his breathing would become normal. He would have a sound sleep.
I wonder why this part of the treatment of Nimba thailam does not feature here. Has any other Ayurvedic physician used nimba thailam like this?
