Kumudeshwar Ras: Benefits, Ingredients, Dose, Side effects

Kumudeshwar Ras is an Ayurvedic medicine, used in the treatment of tuberculosis, chronic fever, chronic cough, asthma, sleeplessness etc.

Ingredients

Ingredients of Kumudeshwar Ras:
Gold Calx – Swarna Bhasma – It is used in treatment of Malabsorption syndrome, Dyspepsia, Hiccup, Anaemia, Dyspnoea, Asthma, Fever, Tissue wasting, Tuberculosis, Impaired intelligence, Epilepsy, Rupture / weakness of ligaments, Heart disease etc.
Rasa Sindoor – It is an Ayurvedic medicine used to boost immune system, to improve strength, in cardiac diseases, colicky abdominal pain, urinary tract related diseases, fistula in ano, inflammatory conditions, tuberculosis, chronic respiratory conditions, asthma etc.
Shudda Gandhaka – Purified Sulfur
Pearl Calx – Moti Bhasma – Mukta Bhasma – It is used in treatment of cough, cold, Bronchitis, Asthma, Toxic conditions, dyspepsia, gastritis, anorexia.
Shudda Parada
Shudda Tankana – Purified Borax – It is used in the treatment of productive cough, bronchitis, wheezing, asthma, chest congestion etc.
Silver Calx – Rajata Bhasma – It improves skin complexion, digestion power, body strength and immunity, intelligence.
Swarna Makshika Bhasma – It is an Ayurvedic medicine, prepared from an ore of Copper and Iron Pyrite.

Method of manufacturing

All the ingredients are taken in fine powder form and ground with kanji. The powder mix is taken in a sharava Samputa made of mud. It is subjected to Mrudu Samputa / Laghu Puta / Kukkuta Puta.

Indications of Kumudeshwar Ras:
Tuberculosis – Rajayakshma
Chronic fever – Jeerna jwara
Chronic Cough – Kasa
Asthma, respiratory disorders with difficulty in breathing
Pain in the abdominal sides – Parshwa shula
Heart diseases
Insomnia

Dose

Dosage of Kumudeshwar Ras:

Traditional dose is 1 Valla = 375 mg. It is mixed with half a teaspoon of black pepper and 1 – 2 teaspoons of ghee and consumed.

General dose is 125 mg along with black pepper and ghee or honey.
Or as directed by the physician.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice.

Side effects

Side effects of Kumudeshwar Ras:
There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy, lactation period and in children.

5 years from the manufacturing date.

With Homeopathy and western medicine

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

Can this medicine be continued while taking supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic / modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take Allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then take the Ayurvedic medicine.
