Ulundhu Thailam is a classical Siddha medicine in oil form manufactured by SKM Siddha & Ayurveda Company India Ltd., Erode- Tamil Nadu. It is used to treat nervous disorders.

Ingredients

Ingredients of Ulundhu Thailam:
Ulundhu – Masha – Black gram – Phaseolus mungo – 30 % – It balances Vata dosha and increases muscle bulk and strength.
Attu paal – Aja dugdha – Goats milk – Capra aegagrus – 30 %
Nalla ennai – Tila taila – Sesame oil – Sesamum indicum – 30 % – It helps to strengthen the bones, muscles and joints.
Poonaikkali vidhai paruppu – Kapikachchu – Mucuna pruriens – 1 % – It is widely used in treating sexual and neurological disorders.
Peraraththai – Rasna – Alpinia galanga – 1 % – It balances Kapha and Vata doshas.
Sathakuppai – Satahva – Dill seed – Anethum sowa – 1 % – It balances Vata dosha.
Chukku – Shunti – Ginger – Zingiber officinale – 1 % – It has analgesic and anti-inflammatory activities.
Milagu – Pippali – Long pepper – Piper longum – 1 %
Thippili – Maricha – Black pepper – Pipper nigrum – 1 %
Vetpalai pattai – Sveta kutaja – Wrightia tinctoria – 1 %
Adhimadhuram – Yastimadhu – Licorice – Glycyrrhiza glabra – 1 % – Good brain tonic. It improves strength and immunity.
Induppu – Saindhava lavana – Rock salt – 1 % – It strengthens the bone and connective tissue. Useful in joint disorders with stiffness.
Vasambu – Vacha – Sweet flag – Acorus calamus – 1 % – Improves voice tone and quality, useful in throat disorders. Useful in treating disorders of Vata dosha imbalance such as neuralgia, paralysis etc.

Indication of Ulundhu Thailam:

• Sira kampam [shivering of head]
• Kara kampam [shivering of hand]
• Nerambu thalarchi [nervous debility]
• Nadukkam [tremour]
• Palvidha vadha noigal [various typeas of nervous disorders]
• Kkelvadham & amavatham [arthritis & rheumatism]
• Prolonged usage as a bathing oil [for 1 year] will eliminate Sevidu [deafness] & Ulnakku valarchchi [arrest elongation of uvula].
• Post viral fever, when the patient complains of body, muscle and joint pains
  Bursitis,  
• Bursitis trochanterica,
• Shoulder dislocation pain

Precaution if you apply this oil over feet:
If you apply this oil on feet, make sure to wash off thouroughly with water or wipe off with cloth. The oil can make you slippery while walking.
After applying, make sure there are no oil spills on the floor. This can make the floor slippery.

Direction for use

Direction for use of Ulundhu Thailam:
To be applied externally & massaged gently.
Or as directed by the physician.

• There are no recorded side effects with this medicine.
• For external application only.

Bottle of 100 ml, 250 ml & 500 ml.

During pregnancy, lactation

If you were using this oil before pregnancy without any allergic reaction, you can continue using this oil even during pregnancy.
If you have not used this product before and wish to use it during pregnancy, better to consult a doctor because it can cause skin allergy in some rare cases.
It is generally considered as safe to use during lactation, however consult your doctor for the right advice.

Can this product be applied after steam therapy?
No. Oil is best applied before steam therapy. This is as per basic Ayurvedic principles.
