Swarna Bhasma
āyurklaram – promotes life expectancy, anti aging
lakṣmīkaram – brings good fortune

Use In Poisoning
In olden days, when there was poisoning, first vomiting and purgation was induced to remove remnant poison in the gut. Then, to cleanse the heart, Tamra bhasma was administered to the patient. After that, Swarna bhasma is administered for a long period of time. By such Swarna administration for long time, the body becomes as pure as Gold. The term used for this is ‘Hemapanga’.

In a person who has been given Gold bhasma for a long time, the poison can not do any harm, similar to a water drop that can not touch the leaf of the lotus.
So there is reference of long term use of Swarna Bhasma, but it has to be done under strict medical supervision only.
Effect on Tridosha – Balances Vata, Pitta and Kapha.
Dosage
The dose of Swarna Bhasma, as explained in text book is – 1/8 – 1/4 Ratti.
1 Ratti means 125 mg. So, dose is 15 – 30 mg per day.
The pediatric dose – From infancy to 5 year old is 5 mg per day.
From 5 – 10 years – 10 mg per day
From 10 – 16 years – 15 mg per day.
It is available in capsule form also. Each capsule contains 50 mg of Svarna bhasmam.
- It relieves burning sensation, if taken along with bile of fish.
- It gives aphrodisiac effect if taken along with Bhringaraja (Eclipta alba).
- It improves strength and immunity, if taken along with milk.
- It is good for eyes, if taken along with Punarnava (Boerhaavia diffusa)
- It improves memory if taken along with sweet flag
- It improves skin complexion if given along with saffron.
- It acts against poison, if given along with an herb called Nirvisha.
- It relieves psychosis if given along with ginger, clove and pepper.

While taking Swarna Bhasma, Bael fruit should not be taken.
Adjuvant: Milk, honey or ghee.
With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.
Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.
With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Swarn Bhasma preparation, ingredients, how to make:
It is prepared from purified Gold. There are many different methods of preparation. Any one method can be used. Here is one such method.
Purified Gold leaf is ground with lemon juice, and applied with a paste of Rasasindhura (Mercurial compound). It is kept in a closed container, heated in absence of air in 400 – 500 degree Celsius for 4 -5 hours. To get Gold Bhasma.

My doctor suggested swarnan bhasma along with milk and saffron for my skin and i had vertigo in my skin and with only 4 or 5 taking it is fading so fast. 4 Drops per day is the right dose. Consider reducing the dose to just 2 drops per day.
IF you are giving it daily it can only be continued for 6 months. After that, it is better to stop using it.

4 gram of swarna per day is very high dose. If it is just 4 miligrams, then it is fine to continue for 40 days. Swarna bhasma, along with other medicines such as Balarishta, Ksheerabala taila 101 etc are used for the treatment of paralysis.
In most of the cases, Basti treatment, oil massage etc are also highly recommended.

After living for 22years with eczema , When I had knee joint problem an allopathic dr. put me on ‘Rumayog gold’ for three months plus period then on ‘Rumayog plain’ my knee improved, and eczema disappeared. after eight months of treatment plus about two and half year . Eczema started showing it’s face again.

Sir: Recently I was cheated by some tricksters in collution with an Ayurvedic doctor ( he posed to be one!). They sold me 1 lt of cocoanut oil boiled with karpura, yalakki, cocoanut water and mixed with 5 ayurvedic powders each 12 gm. One of this was Swarna bhasma or similar sounding thing but 4 gms only @ 34000/-per gm. This oil was intended for external application only for rheumatic pain. On doubts i got 100 cc of oil tested in a lab which said gold is present in trace @ 9.3 ppm. I want to know if I am correct in surmising that whole thing is a fraud? Whether the 4 gms og ” gold powder” is a hoax because it was measured as 9.3 ppm? Wd be grateful if you could enlighten me. Thanx
Hi, first of all, never trust any person as Ayurvedic doctor. The doctor should have his own clinic. Should have his qualification displayed etc.
Even if we assume that Swarna bhasma is present in that oil, external application of that oil is waste. No where, as far as I know, in any Ancient Ayurveda text books that I have read, has indicated to add swarna bhasma / heera bhasma etc into an oil meant for external application. Some fraudsters mix those bhasmas in oil (they mix or they not, is not an issue at all). They sell it to treat hard to treat disorders such as vitiligo cancer etc. This whole thing is a scam.
