Ingredients
Ingredients of Pattu Karuppu:
Suddhi seidha lingam – Shuddha Hingula – Mercuric sulphide – 7 % – Useful in fever, Rheumatic fever, Intermittent fever etc.
Suddhi seidha rasam – Shuddha parada – Elemental mercury – 7 %
Suddhi seidha gandhakam – Shuddha gandhaka – Elemental Sulphur – 3.5 % Suddhi seidha pooram – Mercurous chloride – 3.5 %
Suddhi seidha veeram – Mercuric chloride – 3.5 %
Suddhi seidha vellai pashanam – Arsenic trioxide – 3.5 %
Suddhi seidha kantham – Shuddha Kantha loha – Magnetite ore of iron [ferrosso ferric oxide of iron] – 3.5 %
Suddhi seidha karunabi – Shuddha Vatsanabha – Aconitum ferox – 3.5 % – It is an herb used as an ingredient in many Ayurvedic medicines. It is a poisonous herb, but, when used in smaller quantities, after purification, as a medicine, it has many health benefits.
Lavangam/kirambu – Lavanga – Clove – Syzygium aromaticum – 1.8 %
Amanakku ennai – Eranda taila – Castor oil – Ricinus communis – 7 % – It is useful in relieving worm infestation, Abdominal colic, intermittent fever, skin diseases, Rheumatoid arthritis, hemorrhoids with hard stool problem and constipation.
Kodiveliver/ chiththiramoola ver pattai – Chitraka – Plumbago rosea – 56.1 % – It is one of the powerful digestive and carminative herbs of Ayurveda. Arakku nira pattu thuni – Koshakara keeta – Bombyx mori – q.s.
Indication
Indication of Pattu Karuppu:
- All types of kaichchalgal/surangal [fever]
- Soothaka soolai [dysmenorrhoea]
- Soothaka suram [puerperal fever]
- Soothaka sanni [puerperal delirium]
- Soothakavettai [leucorrhoea].
Dose
Dosage & Adjuvants of Pattu Karuppu:
25 – 50 mg twice daily with honey after food.
Or as directed by the physician.
With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.
Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.
With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.
Diet
Pathya:-
Avoid salt, tamarind, sour diet, alcohol, pagal [bitter gourd], agathi [sasban], non-veg foods & tobacco.
