Amukkara Chooranam is a classical Siddha medicine in powder form manufactured by SKM Siddha & Ayurveda Company India Ltd., Erode- Tamil Nadu. It is mainly used in respiratory infections.

Ingredients

Ingredients of Amukkara Chooranam:
Nattu amukkara kizhangu – Ashwagandha – Indian ginseng – Withania somnifera – 25.20 % – It improves strength and immunity.
Chukku – Shunti – Ginger – Zingiber officinale – 12.60 %
Milagu – Maricha – Black pepper – Piper nigrum – 3.15 % – It improves taste and digestion strength.
Thippili – Pippali – Long pepper – Piper longum – 6.30 % – It has all qualities of a typical spice like useful in indigestion, asthma, cough etc.
Elam – Ela – Cardamom – Elettaria cardamomum – 1.57 %
Sirunagapoo – Twak – Cinnamon – Cinnamomum verum – 0.79 % – It improves digestion strength, is useful in diabetes, high cholesterol etc.
Kirambu – Lavanga – Clove – Syzygium aromaticum – 0.39 % – It improves digestion strength and useful in asthma, COPD, wheezing, breathing difficulty etc.
Sarkarai – Sita – Saccharum officinarum – 50 %

Indication

Indications of Amukkara Chooranam:

• All kinds of Megarogangal such as – Asthisuram, Asthivettai, Vettai (gonorrhoea),  Iraippu (wheezing/spasm), Eelai (pneumonitis), Ooral (severe itching / pruritus), Mega paandu (anemia), Idappattu eeral veekkam (spleenomegaly).
• Induces sleeping.

Dose

Dosage & Adjuvants of Amukkara Chooranam:

1 – 2 g with honey, milk or ghee 2 – 3 times a day before/after food.
Or as directed by the physician.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.
