Tuvaraka Taila is an Ayurvedic oil. It is used in the treatment of allergic skin conditions, ring worm infestation, eczema etc. It is used for external application and oral administration.

It is used in treating all types of skin diseases like ring worm infestation, dermatitis, Pityriasis rosea, eczema and psoriasis.
It is also used to relieve frequent urination.

Precaution if you apply this oil over feet:
If you apply this oil on feet, make sure to wash off thoroughly with water or wipe off with cloth. The oil can make you slippery while walking.
After applying, make sure there are no oil spills on the floor. This can make the floor slippery.
Mode of Usage
It is used for external application over the affected part of skin.
Internal administration – dose is – 5 – 10 drops twice a day, before food, with warm water, or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor.
To relieve frequent urination, traditionally, it is applied over bladder area.
Side Effects
No side effects are known with this oil, on external administration.
But for oral intake, this medicine should be taken only under medical supervision.
Oral intake may cause vomiting and diarrhea
Principle
In this herbal oil, the herbs are infused in the medium of sesame oil along with herb water decotion. Then the solid waste herb materials are filtered out. Thus, this oil contains oil soluble and water soluble phyto-active principles of medicinal herbs.
Ingredients
Tuvaraka Phala majja Taila – Oil of Fruit rind of Hydnocarpus laurifolia – 768 g
Khadira Kwatha – Decoction of Acacia catechu – 2.304 liters
Tuvaraka Kalka – Paste made of Hydnocarpus laurifolia – 128 mg
The above combination is heated till oil is prepared. The prepared oil is kept in cow dung or hot ash for fifteen days, before use.

Sushruta Samhita Chikitsa Sthana 13/20-23
Expiry date: 3 years from the date of manufacture. Once you open the seal, it is better to use it within an year.
Importance in Panchakarma
Whenever any oil or ghee is used for oral consumption, usually hot water is administered after drinking the fat. But for Tuvaraka, usually cold water is administered.

Can this be taken without consulting a doctor?
No.
How long does it take to start showing results?
Depends on the dosage and other products suggested with this. Usually 1 – 2 weeks time.
During pregnancy, lactation
If
you were using this oil before pregnancy without any allergic reaction, you can
continue using this oil even during pregnancy.
If you have not used this product before and wish to use it during pregnancy,
better to consult a doctor because it can cause skin allergy in some rare
cases.
It is generally considered as safe to use during lactation, however consult
your doctor for the right advice.
Can
this product be applied after steam therapy?
No.
Oil is best applied before steam therapy. This is as per basic Ayurvedic
principles.

Hello doctor, can this be used in pityriasis rosea problem? What are the medicines that can be used for pityriasis rosea skin condition?
For chronic fungal infection is Tuvarak oil effective for external application? is it better than neem oil.
Does this cause vomiting and loose motion ?
On oral administration, it can cause both symptoms.
