Ingredients
Ingredients of Sri Sri Tattva Kasahari Cough Syrup:
Kantakari – Yellow berried nightshade – Solanum xanthocarpum – 0.2625 gm – Because of its hot potency, pungent taste, and Kapha Vata hara
properties, it is widely used in respiratory diseases.
Vasa – Malabar nut – Adhatoda vasica – 0.2625 gm – It has bronchodilator
and anti-tussive properties.
Tulasi – Holy Basil – Ocimum sanctum – 0.2625 gm – it has anti-asthmatic,
immunomodulatory, anti-allergic and anti-tussive properties.
Yashtimadhu – Licorice – Glycyrrhiza glabra – 0.175 gm – It is a good
expectorant, expels the phlegm from the lungs.
Ginger – Shunti – Zingiber officinale – 0.175 gm – It has anti-inflammatory
and anti-viral properties.
Maricha – Black pepper – Piper nigrum – 0.175 gm – Decreases sputum
production.
Lavanga – Clove – Caryophyllus aromaticus – 0.0875 gm – Used in respiratory
diseases.
Harithaki – Chebulic myrobalan – Terminalia chebula – 0.0875 gm
Sugar – Saccharum officinarum – 3.00 gm
Excipient – Q.S.
Indication
Cough – Kasa
Dose
Adults: 10 – 15 ml twice or thrice a day,
Children (1 – 6 years): 1 teaspoon twice or thrice a day,
Infants: ½ teaspoon twice or thrice a day,
Or as directed by the physician.
How long to take?
This medicine is usually prescribed for a period of 1 – 2 months time.
With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.
Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.
With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.

Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Seek your doctor’s advice for its use during pregnancy.
This product can be safely used during the lactation period and in children
for a limited period of a few weeks time.
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are diabetic. In diabetic patients, only if the blood sugar is under good control, then this medicine can be given.
