Uses
Jatyadi Ghrita benefits
It is used externally in the treatment of deep seated wounds and ulcers, non healing wound with secretions.
Useful in skin tuberculosis lesions.
Useful in ring worm infection and jock itch.
Useful in relieving pain and swelling of skin rashes caused by insect bites.
It can be applied after 15 days of anal fistula operation to relieve pain and itching in the anal area.

Dose
Jatyadi Ghritam dosage:
Used to apply externally.
A cloth dipped in it may be spread over the wound; or it can be used for dhara.
The wound must be washed with turmeric or tamarind leaves or with healing Aragwadhadi kashayam or Nyagrodhadi kashayam.
Application on anal fissure
Because of its wound healing properties, Jatyadi ghrita is also used for treating fissure in ano. For this, usually it is applied by hands. Some doctors take needle-less syringes, fill 2- 5 ml of Jatyadi ghrita and push the ghee it into the anal canal for inducing quick healing of fissures.

Method of Preparation
Ingredients from Jati to Naktahva are made into paste by adding sufficient quantity of water. Ghee is heated along with prepared paste and stirred continuously till there is subsidence of froth and all the moisture is evaporated. Heating is stopped when the paste rolled between fingers forms varti (wick). Then small pieces of Siktaka is added and mixed. The product obtained is packed in a tightly closed containers.

After heating it to just above the room temperature (in a water bed), it can be applied.

i am asking it because it is in liquid form and even if i give several drops, it drains out in next 10 mins.
Thin layer of application doesn’t gets formed so that the ingredients goes inside to heel the infection.
Moreover do i need to make it hot in micro-oven before applying

it is not used to prevent abscess formation. it is to be applied over the non healing ulcers and wounds. just apply it and place a cotton gauze over it and plaster. you need not heat it in oven or any thing else.

Hello doctor, can this be applied on a healed surgical scar (open heart surgery scar on the chest)? The problem is that surgical scar becomes extremely itching and red sometimes. Will the application help? Kindly suggest.
My dad has a surgical scar (open heart surgery) on his chest. It’s 7 months now after the surgery. The wound has healed long back. He has been using contractubex gel on the scar. Sometimes the scar is very itching and gets red. No other side effects though.

you can use applicator for applying this, which is available for any of the anorectal creams.
But those creams come in tube which can be squeezed through the applicators
My doctor advised me to store it in the fridge. So it is in semisolid form and easy to apply with finger.

Make a mix of 100 ml of Jatyadi ghrita with 30 grams of turmeric. Apply this paste, 3 times a day over the area. Do not wash the area with water. If no improvements are seen even after 10 days time, consider visiting an Ayurveda doctor directly. You may need oral medicines as well.

If there is burning sensation, the Jatyadi ghrita.
If there is pain, no burning sensation and wound, then Jatyadi taila.

For external piles, better to go ahead with surgery. Oral Ayurvedic medicines might not be useful.

It is partially useful but it is not exactly meant for eczema treatment.
It is more useful in the treatment of non healing wounds, as an anti-septic cream, also useful in infected hemorrhoids, sinuses, fistula in ano etc.
