Ingredients
Ingredients of Kunkiliya Vennai:
Vellai kunkiliyam – Shala – Shorea robusta – 33.33 % – It is used in treating non healing wounds, itching, boils etc.
Nalla ennai – Tila taila – Sesame oil – Sesamum indicum – 66.66 % – It is good for skin.
Thanneer – Jala – Water – q.s.
Elaneer – Narikela jala – Coconut water – Cocos nucifera – q.s. – Coolant, relieves burning sensation and cleanses urinary bladder.
Indication
Indication of Kunkiliya Vennai:
- Given internally in case of- meka vellai [infective leucorrhoea], nirkaduppu [burning micturition], utalkankai [burning sensation of the body], vairu erichal [burning sensation of the stomach], kai-kal kanthal [burning sensation of the hand & feet].
- Applied externally in cases of – thee chutta pun [ulcers of burns] & pun [external ulcers].
Direction for use
Direction for use of Kunkiliya Vennai:
- Internally – Take 3 – 6 g with water after food twice daily.
Or as directed by the physician. - Externally – Apply on the affected areas.
Application on feet

Precaution if you apply this oil over feet:
If you apply this oil on feet, make sure to wash off thoroughly with water or wipe off with cloth. The oil can make you slippery while walking.
After applying, make sure there are no oil spills on the floor. This can make the floor slippery.

Side effects of Kunkiliya Vennai:
- There are no recorded side effects with this medicine.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Internally should be taken under medical supervision.

During pregnancy, lactation
If
you were using this oil before pregnancy without any allergic reaction, you can
continue using this oil even during pregnancy.
If you have not used this product before and wish to use it during pregnancy,
better to consult a doctor because it can cause skin allergy in some rare
cases.
It is generally considered as safe to use during lactation, however consult
your doctor for the right advice.
Can this product be applied after steam therapy?
No. Oil is best applied before steam therapy. This is as per basic Ayurvedic principles.
