Ingredients
Ingredients of Gandhaka Parpam:
Gandhagam – Shuddha gandhaka – Elemental sulphur – 100 %
Vellai vengaya saru – Palandu – Onion – Allium cepa – q.s. – It improves skin complexion, useful in skin disorders.
Inji saru – Shunti – Ginger – Zingiber officinale – q.s. – It has analgesic and anti-inflammatory activities.
Marudhampattai sambal – Arjuna – Terminalia arjuna – q.s. – Used in allergic skin conditions and ring worm infestation.
Puliyam purani sambal – Chincha – Tamarind – Tamarindus indicus – q.s. -Useful in blood disorders such as abscess, skin disorders, bleeding disorders such as menorrhagia, nasal bleeding etc.
Indication
Indication of Gandhaka Parpam:
This is traditionally used for controlling skin diseases such as –
- Megam
- Kuttam [leproma/simple skin diseases]
- Sori [itches]
- Sirangu [scabies]
- Saruma thimir/ thole maraththu pothal [numbness of skin]
- Pavuththiram [fistula] etc.
Dose
Dosage & Adjuvants of Gandhaka Parpam:
30 – 60 mg with honey or butter twice a day before/after food.
Or as directed by the physician.
