Seendhil Tablets: Uses, Dose, Ingredients, Side effects

Seendhil Tablet is a classical Siddha medicine in tablet form, manufactured by SKM Siddha & Ayurveda Company India Ltd., Erode- Tamil Nadu. It is used in the treatment of diabetes mellitus.

Ingredients

Ingredients of Seendhil Tablet:
Each 500 mg tablet contains –
Seendhil – Guduchi – Giloy – Tinospora cordifolia – 8 %
Kadukkai thole – Haritaki – Chebulic myrobalan – Terminalia chebula – 8 % – Useful in diabetes and urinary tract disorders.
Nellivattral – Amalaki – Gooseberry – Emblica officinalis – 8 % – It has anti-diabetic activity.
Kariveppilai elai – Kaidarya – Murraya koenigii – 8 %
Vilvam – Bilva – Bael – Aegle marmelos – 8 %
Manjal – Haridra – Turmeric – Curcuma longa – 8 % – It is the drug of choice in effectively tackling Diabetes Mellitus and Urinary tract disorders.
Vendhayam – Satahva – Dill seed – Trigonella foenum graecum – 4 %
Kovai elai – Kunduru – Ivy gourd – Cephalandra indica – 4 % – It has anti- hyperglycemic and reno-protective effects.
Sirukurinjaan elai – Madhunashini – Gymnema sylvestre – 10 % – It is a herb popularly known for its anti- diabetic action and is mentioned in Ayurvedic treatment of diabetes, renal calculi, cough, snake poison and jaundice.
Maramanjal – Daruharidra – Coscinium fenestratum – 4 % – It is used to treat eye disorders, skin disorders with itching, diabetes, urinary tract diseases, etc. 
Kungiliya parpam – A prepared medicine – 4 %
Naga parpam – A prepared medicine – 4 %
Kantha chendooram – A prepared medicine – 4 %
Meganarayana chendooram – A prepared medicine – 4 %
Abrega chendooram – A prepared medicine – 4 % – It is a classical Siddha medicine used in the treatment of diabetes.
Silasaththu parpam – A prepared medicine – 10 %
Velam pisin – Babbula – Acacia nilotica – q.s. – It has anti-pyretic, anti-asthamatic, cytotoxic, anti-diabetic and anti-platelet agregatory activities.

Indication

Indication of Seendhil Tablet:
Madhumegam [hyperglycemia].

Dose

Dosage & Adjuvants of Seendhil Tablet:
2 tablets twice daily before food with water.
Or as directed by the physician.

Diet

Pathya:-
Avoid salt, tamarind, sour diet, alcohol, pagal [bitter gourd], agathi [sasban], non-veg foods & tobacco.

Side effects and package

Side effects of Seendhil Tablet:

  • There are no recorded side effects with this medicine.
  • Should be taken under strict medical supervision.
  • Should be kept out of reach of children.
  • Over dosage may result in hypo-glycaemia.
