Ingredients of Neerkovai Mathirai:
Each 500 mg tablet contains –
Kappu manjal – Haridra – Turmeric – Curcuma longa – 19.05 % – It has immuno-modulatory, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and expectorant activities.
Kasthuri manjal – Vanaharidra – Curcuma aromatica – 19.05 %
Porintha venkaram – Tankana – Sodium tetraborate – 9.52 % – It is used in the treatment of productive cough, bronchitis, wheezing, asthma, chest congestion etc.
Sambirani – Lohban – Styrax benzoin – 9.52 %
Milagu – Maricha – Black pepper – Piper nigrum – 9.52 % – Useful in treatment of asthma, chronic respiratory disorders etc. It decreases sputum production.
Chukku – Shunti – Ginger – Zingiber officinale – 9.52 %
Jadhikkai – Jatiphala – Nutmeg – Myristica fragrans – 9.52 % – Useful in asthma, COPD and other respiratory diseases.
Omam – Yavani – Carom seed – Trachyspermum ammi – 4.76 %
Lavangam – Lavanga – Clove – Syzygium aromaticum – 4.76 % – Useful in asthma, COPD, wheezing, breathing difficulty etc.
Karpooram – Karpoora – Camphor – Cinnamomum camphora – 4.76 % Inhalation of its vapors helps in relieving chest congestion due to excessive sputum. It is also used in treatment of cough.

Elumichan saaru – Nimbooka swarasa – Lemon juice – Citrus aurantifolia – q.s. – It helps to relieve excessive accumulation of Kapha in stomach, leading to vomiting.

- Jaladosham [common cold]
- Neerettra thalaivali [headaches due to cold]
- Thalai baram [heaviness of head].
Dose
Dosage & Adjuvants of Neerkovai Mathirai:
A pill is rubbed with water/ breast milk into a paste & applied externally on the forehead.
Or as directed by the physician.
