Obenyl Tablet: Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side Effects

Obenyl Tablet is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Charak Pharma Pvt. Ltd. It is a natural anti-obesity formulation. It is a safe appetite suppressant for treating obesity.

Obenyl Tablet is a rational formulation for lowering lipids and reducing weight & normalizing metabolism.

Indications

Obesity/over weight
Obesity in patients with diabetes or hypertension

Ingredients

Each tablet contains –
Gandhaka – Sulphur –  10.70 mg
Triphala guggulu – Ayurvedic medicine – 10.70 mg – It helps to ease bowel movements, acts as a mild laxative.
Dashanga guggulu – Ayurvedic medicine – 10.70 mg
Jeeraka – Cumin – Cuminum cyminum – 10.70 mg
Kaishora guggulu – Ayurvedic medicine – 10.70 mg – Useful in lowering fat, to reduce weight and to lower cholesterol.
Mundi – Sphaeranthus indicus – 128.40 mg – Useful in obesity and has anti-diabetic activity.
Yogaraja guggulu – Ayurvedic medicine – 42.80 mg
Triphala – Emblica officinalis, Terminalia chebula, Terminalia bellerica – 64.80 mg
Maharasnadi kwatha – Ayurvedic medicine – 128.40 mg
Punarnava – Spreadding hogweed – Boerhavia diffusa – 256.60 mg
Vakumbha – Careya arborea – 256.80 mg

Dosage

Adults – 2 tablets 2 – 3 times a day.
Children – 1 tablet 2 – 3 times a day.
Or as directed by the physician.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice. 

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Do’s, Don’ts

Do’s

Practice diet control.
Prefer bland diet & warm water for drinking.
Eat wheat, barley & maize and among vegetables consumption of bitter gourd, long gourd & drum stick is recommended.
Practice brisk morning walk at least for 30 minutes.
Practice stress management by meditation, yoga posture etc.

Don’ts

Avoid sweet and dairy products.
Avoid intake of rice and potatoes, which contain lot of carbohydrates.
Avoid fried, oily and non-vegetarian food.
Among fruits avoid banana, chikoo, grapes and pineapples.
Avoid sedentary habits, excessive sleep.

Side effects of Obenyl Tablet

There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
