Cough Syrup is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Cholayil Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. It is a balanced and effective formulation to provide instant and long term relief from cough and cold.
Indications of Medimix Cough Syrup
Kasa – cough
Shwasa – dyspnea,
Useful in treatment of asthma and chronic respiratory disorders.
Dosage
Adults – 1 to 2 tsp thrice a day.
Children – 1 tsp thrice a day. Or as directed by the physician.
How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice.
With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine
Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.
With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.
Ingredients
Each 10 ml of Medimix Cough Syrup contains extracts of –
Tulasi – Holy basil – Ocimum sanctum – 1 mg – It balances Kapha Dosha, useful to relieve excess sputum production.
Shunti – Ginger – Zingiber officinale – 1 mg – Useful in treatment of asthma and chronic respiratory disorders.
Maricha – Black pepper – Piper nigrum – 1 mg – Useful in treatment of asthma and chronic respiratory disorders.
Pippali – Long pepper – Piper longum – 1 mg – Relieves cough, cold, asthma, chronic respiratory disorders.
Brihati – Poison berry – Solanum indicum – 0.5 mg
Guduchi – Giloy – Tinospora cordifolia – 0.5 mg – It has immuno-modulatory properties.
Bharangi – Blue glory – Clerodendrum serratum – 0.5 mg
Bilva – Bael – Aegle marmelos – 1.5 mg – It balances Vata and Kapha Doshas.
Vasa – Malabar nut – Adhatoda vasica – 1 mg – It has anti-inflammatory, anti-tussive and broncho-dilatory properties.
Vamsha – Bamboo – Bambusa arundinacea – 1 mg
Karpura – Cinnamomum camphora – Camphor – 1 mg
Side effects of Medimix Cough Syrup
There are no known side effects with this medicine. However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision. Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight. Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy. This product can be safely used during lactation period and in children for a limited period of few weeks time.
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are diabetic. In diabetic patients, only if the blood sugar is under good control, then this medicine can be given.
