Intellec Syrup: Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side Effects

Intellec Syrup is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Millennium Herbal Care Ltd. It is an adaptogenic and possesses anti-stress, anxiolytic and anti-depressant properties.

Indication of Intellec Syrup

Adults –
Memory disorders
Senile dementia
Lack of concentration
Vascular dementia
Anxiety neurosis
Alzheimer’s disease
Mild to moderate depression
Children –
Weak memory
Loss of concentration
Bed wetting
A.D.H.D.
Anxiety neurosis
Mild to moderate depression

Dosage

Adults – 1 – 2 tsp in the morning and a bed time.
Children – ½ – 1 tsp syrup twice a day.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice. 

With Other Medicines

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Diet To Follow

Have more of Ghee, coconut oil, Sunflower seed, almond, taro root, flaxseed oil, soyabean, pistachio,
Broccoli, carrots, chard, nuts, papaya, pumpkin, red peppers
Flax seeds, walnut, tofu, brussel sprout, cauliflower, winter squash, fish oil, egg oil, krill oil, chia seeds, camelia are fine to take.

Diet To avoid:
There are no diet restrictions. Please avoid all types of junk foods, excessive non veg foods, try to avoid or limit alcohol and smoking. Avoid aerated drinks.
Please prefer homemade food wherever possible.

Ingredients

Each 5 ml of syrup contains extracts of –
Brahmi – Bacopa monnieri – 1250 mg – Useful in lack of memory, loss of concentration, hearing and vision loss.
Mandukaparni  – Gotu kola – Centella asiatica – 200 mg – It improves intelligence.
Shankhapushpi – Convolvulus pluricaulis – 100 mg
Ashwagandha – Indian ginseng – Withania somnifera – 50 mg – It improves immunity and strength.
Jatamamsi – Spikenard – Nardostachys jatamansi – 50 mg – Used in neuro-psychiatric diseases.
Jyothishmati – Staff tree – Celastrus paniculatus – 50 mg – It has nootropic effect.
Vacha – Sweet flag – Acorus calamus – 50 mg – It improves speech, intelligence.
Pippali – Long pepper – Piper longum – 50 mg

Side effects of Intellec Syrup

There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.                             
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy.
This product can be safely used during lactation period and in children for a limited period of few weeks time.
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are diabetic. In diabetic patients, only if the blood sugar is under good control, then this medicine can be given.

Habit forming

Is this medicine habit forming? Does it create dependence? Can we stop it after a few months of usage?
This medicine is not habit forming. After using for the prescribed period, your doctor would gradually decrease the dose and eventually stop it. Follow your doctor’s instructions for gradual decrease of dose and stopping. Usually it does not cause any ill effects.

Please consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
