Sri Sri Tattva Shwasa Shuddhi Vati Uses, Dose, Ingredients, Side effects

Sri Sri Tattva Shwasa Shuddhi Vati is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Sri Sri Tattva Company. It is used in the treatment of Dyspnoea, Cough, Rhinitis.

Uses and Indications

Benefits:
It helps in scraping off the excessive, unwanted mucosal secretions that blocks the airway as a result of exposure to allergens, pollutants or infections, thereby cleansing the bronchial tree.
It also acts as a potent Broncho-dilator, thereby helps to prevent Asthmatic conditions.

Indication:
Dyspnoea,
Cough,
Rhinitis.

Dose and Duration

Dose:
Adults: 2 tablets thrice daily before food
Children: 1 tablet thrice daily before food
or as directed by an Ayurvedic physician.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

How long to take?
This medicine is usually prescribed for a period of 1 – 2 months time.

Ingredients of Sri Sri Tattva Shwasa Shuddhi Vati:
Spiked ginger lily – Shati – Hedychium spicatum – 50 mg – It has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory action.
Country mallow – Bala – Sida cordifolia – 20 mg
Kantakari – Solanum xanthocarpum – 50 mg – Because of its hot potency, pungent taste and Kapha Vata hara property it is widely used in respiratory disorders.
Small caltrops – Gokshra – Tribulus terrestris – 20 mg
Long pepper – Pippali – Piper longum – 30 mg – It has immunomodulatory and anti-bacterial properties.
Ginger – Shunti – Zingiber officinale – 30 mg – Useful in Asthma and other chronic respiratory disorders.
Blue glory – Bharangi – Clerodendrum serratum – 50 mg – Acts as mucolytic, breaks down mucus and eases it out of lungs.
Bael root – Bilva – Aegle marmelos – 20 mg
Pushkara moola – Innula racemosa – 50 mg – It has antihistaminic and a brochodilatory effect.
Karkatakashrungi – Pistacia integerrima – 50 mg
Cumin seed – Jeeraka – Cuminum cyminum – 20 mg
Malabar nut – Vasaka – Adhatoda vasica – 50 mg – It has broncho-dilating and anti-tussive effects.
Licorice – Yashtimadhu – Glycyrrhiza glabra – 50 mg – It is a good expectorant and has anti-allergic property.
Abhrakabhasma – Calcined mica – 10 mg

Side effects and Precautions


There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Seek your doctor’s advice for its use during pregnancy.
This product can be safely used during the lactation period and in children for a limited period of a few weeks time for side effects and precautions.
