Vatahara Kwatha Uses, Dose, Ingredients, Side Effects

Kwatha is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Pentacare ayur pharma. It is mainly used in the treatment of Neuromuscular disorders and Low back pain and Facial palsy diseases.

Vatahara Kwatha Indications

Neuromuscular disorders,
Arthritis,
Gout,
Sprain,
Sciatica,
Hemiplegia/ Paraplegia,
Body pain,
Low back pain and Facial palsy,
Post viral fever, when the patient complains of body, muscle and joint pains
Bursitis,  
Bursitis trochanterica,
Shoulder dislocation pain

It is useful to promote strength of bones and joints.
It acts as an excellent anti inflammatory and analgesic medicine.
It is used for the treatment of ankle pain, ankle twitch, slipped disc, sprain, back spasm, backache, back injury, stiffness of muscles, Coccyx pain

Partially useful in (other medications might be required)
Avascular necrosis
Sensory-neural hearing loss
Hypothyroidism
Ankylosing spondylitis
Pain related to SLE

Diet

Avoid deep fried foods, heavy-to-digest non veg foods, fast foods and aerated drinks, smoking and excess alcohol. These can irritate stomach and intestinal lining. These also may increase Tridosha.

Dosage

5-15 ml B.D/T.I.D. or as directed by a Ayurvedic physician.

How long to take?
This medicine can be taken for a period of 6 – 8 weeks as per doctors advice. After that time, usually the dose is gradually reduced and the medicine is stopped in next 6 weeks of time.

Vatahara Kwatha Ingredients

Each 200 ml contains
Extracts of Maharasnadi Kwata Churna – 100 gm
Ashwagandha – Withania somnifera – 20 gm – It improves blood circulation, a very good anti oxidant, acts as a nervine tonic and soothes nerves. Shatavari – Asparagus racemosus – 20 gm – It is a very good nervine tonic. Guduchi – Tinospora cordifolia – 10 gm
Kapikacchu – Mucuna pruriens – 15gm – It has neuroprotective properties. Yashtimadhu – Glycyrrhiza glabra – 5 gm
Vidari – Pueraria tuberosa – 10 gm
Pippali – Piper Longum – 20 gm

With Other Medicines

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Side effects

There are no recorded side effects with this medicine. It is usually prescribed in a lower dose during lactation and in children. Consult your doctor for its usage during pregnancy. Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
