Pigmento Ointment is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Charak Pharma. It is mainly used to treat acquired white patches and vitiligo.

How long to apply?
This medicine can be applied for a period of 6 – 8 weeks as per doctors advice. After that time, usually the dose is gradually reduced and the medicine is stopped in next 6 weeks of time.

Pigmento Ointment Ingredients:
Each mg contains:
Bakuchi Oil – 10%
Jeeraka – Cuminum cyminum – 3.0%
Chakramarda beej – Cassia tora Linn – 3.0%
Tulsi beej – Holy basil seeds – Ocimum sanctum – 3.0%
Arishtat beej – Seed of Sapindus mukorossi – 3.0%
Bakuchi beej – Seed of Psoralea corylifolia – 3.0% – Very well known for its efficacy against skin diseases including leucoderma.
Chitrak mool – Root of Plumbago zeylanica Linn – 1.5%
Khadira twak – Bark of Acacia catechu – 1.5% – Mainly used for the treatment of skin disorders.
Neem beej – Seed – Azadirachta indica – 1.5%
Eranda beej – Castor seed –  1.5%
Gairik -1.5%
Gandhak shuddha – Purified sulphur – 1.5%
Washable ointment base q.s

Side effects

There are no recorded side effects with this medicine.
This product is meant only for external application.
Consult your doctor for its usage during pregnancy.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Avoid accidental oral intake. Keep out of reach and sight of children.

How long does it take to start showing results?
Depends on the dosage and other products suggested with this. Usually 1 – 2 weeks time.

Can this be taken without consulting a doctor?
No. In many cases, this product alone might not work. More often this is given in combination with a few Ayurvedic medicines. Your Ayurveda practitioner will be the best judge to decide on those things.

Can one take non vegetarian food while taking this medicine?
Yes, unless your practitioner has asked to avoid it.

Is there any Pathya (diet rules to be followed while taking this product?
No product specific diet is mentioned. If the practitioner has advised diet control based on disease, one has to follow that.
