Paedritone Syrup is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Charak Pharma. It is mainly used to treat flatulence, indigestion and bloating.

Paedritone Syrup Ingredients:
Ativisha – Aconitum heterophyllum Wall. Cat – 1 mg – having digestive, carminative, absorbent and tridosha balancing properties
Chitrak mool – Plumbago zeylanica Linn – 1 mg – It is one of the powerful digestive and carminative herbs of Ayurveda.
Daruhaldi – Berberis aristata Dc -1 mg
Indrayav – Holarrhena antidysenterica – Seeds – 1 mg
Kutaj chhal – Bark – Holarrhena antidysenterica – 1 mg – It improves digestion, relieves ama, used in diarrhea.
Pippali – Piper longum – 1 mg – Used to improve digestive fire, relieves bloating, ama, abdominal colic, improves taste.
Pippali mool – Piper longum root – 1 mg
Sonth – Zingiber Officinalis (dry zinger) -1 mg – Improves taste, digestive strength, relieves anorexia, abdominal colic, indigestion
Vayvidang – Embelia ribes Burm. F – 1 mg
Kakadashing – Pistacia integerrima – 1 mg
Nagarmotha – Cyperus scariosus – 1 mg
Elachi – Elettaria cardamomum – 1 mg
Harde – Terminalia chebula – 1 mg
Shatavari – Asparagus racemosus – 1 mg
Saunf – Foeniculum vulgare -1 mg
Kunvar Patha – Cissampelos pareira – 1 mg
Guduchi – Tinospora cordifolia – 1 mg
Amla – Phyllanthus emblica – 1 mg
Baheda – Terminalia bellirica – 1 mg
Jeera – Cuminum cyminum – 2 mg
Yashtimadhu – Glycyrrhiza glabra Linn – 2 mg
Vacha – Acrous calamus Linn – 4 mg

Indications

Paedritone Syrup Indications:
Gripes, colics, flatulence and indigestion, diarrhea during dentition,promote growth in children.

Dosage

Dose
1 to 5 years: 2 teaspoonful 3 times a day.
Above 5 years: 3 teaspoonful 3 times a day.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

How long to take?
This medicine can be taken for a period of 6 – 8 weeks as per doctors advice. After that time, usually the dose is gradually reduced and the medicine is stopped in next 6 weeks of time.

Shelf life and Side Effects

Shelf life – 3 years from the date of manufacture.

Paedritone Syrup Side effects:
There are no recorded side effects with this medicine.
It is usually prescribed in a lower dose during lactation
Consult your doctor for its usage during pregnancy.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are diabetic. In diabetic patients, only if the blood sugar is under good control, then this medicine can be given.

How long does it take to start showing results?
Depends on the dosage and other products suggested with this. Usually 1 – 2 weeks time.

Can this product be taken along with Allopathic medicines (English medicines)?
It may react with some medicines. Consult your doctor for the right advice. When English and Ayurvedic medicines are advised together, it is best to take English medicine first, give a gap of half an hour and then take Ayurvedic medicines.  

Can it be used in people with diabetes?
Yes. But an eye should be kept on the blood sugar level. Your doctor should help you in this regard. This product can reduce blood sugar levels.

It is sold in plastic bottles. Is it fine? 
If the quality of the bottle material is very good, it should not be problem, if stored for a short period of time.

Can this be taken without consulting a doctor?
No.

Can one take non vegetarian food while taking this medicine?
Yes, unless your practitioner has asked to avoid it.

Is there any Pathya (diet rules to be followed while taking this product?
No product specific diet is mentioned. If the practitioner has advised diet control based on disease, one has to follow that.

Can this be taken while taking multivitamin tablets?
Yes, generally. Your consulting doctor will be good judge on this topic.
