Gaisantak Bati: Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side Effects

Gaisantak Bati is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine in tablet form, manufactured by Shree Baidyanath Ayurved Bhavan Pvt. Ltd. It gives instant relief from gas. 

Indications

Indication of Gaisantak Bati:
Flatulence
Gases
Indigestion

Dosage

Dosage of Gaisantak Bati:
1-2 tablets twice a day with water or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice.

Ingredients of Gaisantak Bati:
Each tablet contains –
Shankha bhasma  – 35 mg – Shankha Bhasma is an Ayurvedic medicine prepared from Conch shell. It is used in Ayurvedic treatment of gastritis, abdominal pain, malabsorption syndrome etc.
Ajamoda – Ptychotis ajowan – 35 mg
Shunti – Zinginer officinale – 35 mg
Vid lavana – Bida salt – 35 mg – Vida Lavana is one among the group of five salts as explained in many Ayurvedic text books. However, there is difference of opinion regarding the identity of this salt.
Hingu – Ferula asafoetida – 35 mg
Chitrakamoola – Plumbago zeylanica – 35 mg
Pippalimoola – Piper longum – 35 mg – Long pepper fruit
Yavakshara – Hordeum vulgare – 35 mg
Haritaki – Terminalia chebula – 35 mg
Lasuna – Allium sativum – 35 mg – Garlic
Navasagara – Ammonium chloride – 72 mg

Bhavana – grinding with
Nimbu swarasa – Citrus limonum
Gwarpata – Aloe vera juice

Side effects

Side effects of Gaisantak vati:
There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy.
This product can be safely used during lactation period and in children for a limited period of few weeks time.
