Forkid Syrup: Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side Effects

Forkid Syrup is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Megha Health Care Pvt. Ltd. It is a paediatric preparation used as a daily health supplement. 

Indications

Indication of Forkid Syrup:
As a daily health supplement for kids.
Digestive complaints like – indigestion, flatulence, infantile diarrhea and constipation.
For growth & development of a child.

Dose

Dosage of Forkid Syrup:
Up to 1 year – ¼ tsp twice a day.
3 years & above – ½-1 tsp twice a day.
Or as directed by the physician.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice.

Ingredients of Forkid Syrup:
Each 5 ml of syrup contains aqueous extracts of –
Amalaki – Embelica officinalis – 60 mg
Shatapushpa – Anethum graveolens – 50 mg – Dill seed is an ancient Indian spice. Its seeds, seed oil and whole plant is used in Indian culinary. It is mainly used in digestive disorders. It is also called as Indian Dill.
Guduci – Tinospora cordifolia – 40 mg
Ashwagandha – Withania somnifera – 40 mg
Vidanga – Embelica ribes – 20 mg
Musta – Cyperus rotundus – 20 mg
Haritaki – Terminalia chebula – 20 mg
Pippali – Piper longum – 10 mg
Shunti – Zingiber officinale – 10 mg
Yastimasdhu – Glycyrrhiza glabra – 10 mg
Mishreya – Foeniculum vulgare – 10 mg – Fennel Seed is an ancient Indian spice. Usually spices are hot in nature and are not soothing to stomach. But fennel seed is an exception to this rule.It is sweet and slightly bitter in nature.
Jeeraka – Cuminum cyminum – 10 mg
Flavored sugary syrup base – q.s.

Side effects

Side effects of Forkid Syrup:
There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy.
This product can be safely used during lactation period and in children for a limited period of few weeks time.
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are diabetic. In diabetic patients, only if the blood sugar is under good control, then this medicine can be given.
