Ashwagandha Vriddhadaru Churna Uses, Dose, Ingredients, Side Effects

Ashwagandha is a well known immune-modulator and aphrodisiac. Scientists have appreciated its potent effect in anxiety management also. Likewise Vriddhadaru is also a drug appreciated for rejuvenation as well as aphrodisiac properties.

Ingredients:
Equal amount of following drugs-
1. Ashwagandha –Withania somnifera Root
Immuno – modulator, rejuvenative, aphrodisiac, anxyolytic, nervine tonic.
is one of the most powerful gifts of nature and Ayurveda to the humanity. Talk about Ayurvedic treatment for anxiety, leucoderma, depression, insomnia, weight gain, weight loss, immunity, muscle strength, body building, anti oxidants, sexual stimulant and so on… The herb does it all and more.

2. Vriddha daru – Argyreia speciosaSeeds or Root
Rejuvinative, aphrodisiac, stimulant, tonic.
s a plant mentioned for the treatment of swelling, rheumatoid arthritis, general debility, leucorrhea, oligospermia and diabetes.

Formulation

Kind of formulation – Powder (Choorna); For the purpose of easy transportation and apt dose calculation it can be made into tablets.

Dosage

Dose: Classical dosage is 1 karsha (12 gram)
In practice this can be given 5 – 8 gram in adults.
In case of children who are lean/emaciated this can be administered by cooking with milk (Medicated milk)

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Vehicle and Indications: Classical vehicle is cow’s ghee.
This can be taken along with milk or milk added with sugar candy or warm water.
In insomnia, this is administered by mixing with ghee, during bed time.

Indications

Indications:
The formulation is an economic product compare to any other medicine of this kind. The recipe is very easy to prepare and can be prepared in home itself. Due to its potent aphrodisiac action and rejuvinative properties it is well indicated in middle aged and old aged people.
It is nutritive too and hence recommended in premature grey hairs as well as geriatric problems also.

For gym goers: 
This product can be taken by people going to gym regularly. It helps to strengthen joints, nerves, muscles and tendons. It accelerates the injury healing process due to potent anti inflammatory, anti oxidant, anti stress and analgesic properties.

Contra indications

The formulation is not recommended in the patients who are having indigestion, gaseous distension of abdomen, nausea, heaviness of the body etc the formulation as such is not possessing any of the carminatives. Or else this medicine is administered along with any anti flatulent or digestive medicaments.

Specifications

As this simple formulation does not possess any of the carminatives or digestives if it has to be modified into Lehya or Granules or Syrup it is always wise to add Pippali, Shunthi or Musta as additives which will fulfil the need.

My experience with this formulation:
The formulation is highly beneficial in neurological debility, circulatory defects as well as senile debility. If the formulation is administered along with milk, one can get good and deep sleep.
