Feritone Syrup Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side Effects

Feritone Syrup is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Shree Dhanwantari Herbals. It is used for the post-natal care of the mother.  

Indications

Indication of Feritone Syrup:
Anemia of various origins
Malnutrition
Lactation
Ante natal & post-natal care

Dosage

Dosage of Feritone Syrup:
2 tsp thrice a day, or as directed by the physician.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice.

Ingredients of Feritone Syrup:
Each 5 ml contains –
Arjuna – Terminalia arjuna – 100 mg
Vidarimoola – Ipomea digitata – 100 mg
Bala – Sida cordifolia – 100 mg – Sida cordifolia or Country mallow is known as Bala in Ayurveda. The word Bala refers to strength. This herb is used to increase strength of body. Bala is an ancient Ayurvedic herb, used widely in a variety of Ayurvedic medicines and oils to improve strength of bones, muscles and joints.
Gokshura  – Tribulus terrestris  – 100 mg
Kashi -Terminalia chebula – 100 mg
Loha bhasma – 100 mg – Loha Bhasma is an Ayurvedic medicine prepared from Iron. It is used in Ayurvedic treatment of anemia, eye disorders, skin diseases etc.
Sarjikshara – 100 mg
Shatapushpa – Foeniculum vulgare – 100 mg – Fennel Seed is an ancient Indian spice. Usually spices are hot in nature and are not soothing to stomach. But fennel seed is an exception to this rule.It is sweet and slightly bitter in nature. It is the spice of choice to chew after food. Usually given at the end of dinner in every Indian hotel.
Shatavari – Asperagus racemosus – 100 mg
Nilotpala – Nymhpaea stellata  – 100 mg
Vidarikanda – Pueraria tuberosa – 100 mg

Side effects

Side effects of Feritone Syrup:
There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy.
This product can be safely used during lactation period and in children for a limited period of few weeks time.
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are diabetic. In diabetic patients, only if the blood sugar is under good control, then this medicine can be given.
