Femigard Gold Syrup Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side Effects

Femigard Gold Syrup is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine a Green Milk research product developed by Apex Laboratories Ltd. It is designed to regularize menstrual cycle by correcting dysfunctional uterine bleeding. 

Femigard Gold corrects menstrual irregularities by virtue of its unique formulation of time tested herbs in optimum quantity which helps in correcting the hypothalamus-pituitary-ovarian axis.

Dose

Dosage of Femigard Gold Syrup:
15 ml thrice a day, or as directed by the physician.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice.

Ingredients of Femigard Gold Syrup:
Each 15 ml of syrup contains extract of –
Asoka – Saraca indica – 500 mg
Lodhra – Symplocos racemosa – 300 mg – Lodhra is a very important Ayurvedic herb. It is mainly used in bleeding disorders, diarrhoea and eye disorders. Its reference in Ayurveda are found since the time of Sushruta.
Jatamamsi – Nardostachys jatamansi – 50 mg
Ashwagandha – Withania somnifera – 200 mg
Sringavera – Zingiber officinale – 200 mg
Gokshura – Tribulus terrestris – 150 mg
Shatavari – Asperagus racemosus – 150 mg
Punarnava – Boerhaavia diffusa – 150 mg
Yastimadhu – Glycyrrhiza glabra – 100 mg – Licorice benefits are known to Indians since thousands of years. Its Sanskrit name is Yashtimadhu. It is one of the most commonly used Ayurvedic herbs. In almost every Indian household, you might find this herb chewed, whenever someone’s voice has gone down.
Dadima – Punica granatum – 75 mg

Side effects

Side effects of Femigard Gold Syrup:
There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy.
This product can be safely used during lactation period and in children for a limited period of few weeks time.
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are diabetic. In diabetic patients, only if the blood sugar is under good control, then this medicine can be given.

Habit forming

Is this medicine habit forming? Does it create dependence? Can we stop it after a few months of usage?
This medicine is not habit forming. After using for the prescribed period, your doctor would gradually decrease the dose and eventually stop it. Follow your doctor’s instructions for gradual decrease of dose and stopping. Usually it does not cause any ill effects.
