Femalecare Syrup: Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side Effects

Femalecare Syrup is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Badariya Pharmaceuticals. It is a uterine tonic, useful in excess bleeding, menorrhagia and metrorrhagia.

Sugar – 50 mg
Sodium benzoate – 0.5 %

Indications

Indication of Femalecare Syrup:
Amenorrhoea
Irregular menstrual cycle
Leucorrhoea

Dose and Duration

Dosage of Femalecare Syrup:
2 tsp 3 times a day, diluted with equal quantities of water or as directed by the physician.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice.

Ingredients of Femalecare Syrup:
Each 10 ml contains –
Asoka – Saraca indica – 100 mg – Ashoka is an important Ayurvedic herb used mainly in bleeding gynecological conditions. Its botanical name is Saraka indica or Saraca asoca and it belongs to Caesalpinoidae family.
Dhataki – Woodfordia fruticosa – 10 mg
Musta – Cyperus rotendus – 10 mg
Shunti – Zingiber officinale – 10 mg
Daruharidra – Berberis aristata – 10 mg
Kamala – Nelumbo nucifera – 10 mg
Amalaki – Embelica officinalis – 10 mg
Amra – Magnifera indica – 10 mg – Mango seed
Jeeraka – Cuminum cyminum – 10 mg – Cumin
Vasaka – Adathoda vasica – 10 mg
Rakta chandana – Pterocarpus santalinus – 10 mg – Raktachandan – Pterocarpus santalinus is used in Ayurveda for the treatment of eye disorders, sexual disorders, Pitta disorders such as nasal bleeding, menorrhagia etc.

Side effects

Side effects of Femalecare Syrup:
Over dosage may cause lowered periods bleeding (low bleeding).
There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy.
This product can be safely used during lactation period and in children for a limited period of few weeks time.
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are diabetic. In diabetic patients, only if the blood sugar is under good control, then this medicine can be given.
