Extrammune Tablet: Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side Effects

Extrammune Tablet is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Charak Pharmaceuticals. Extrammune is a natural immunity enhancer. 

Good defense or immunity is the prime important in fighting against microbial infections. Poor immunity in general has a huge negative impact on the productivity at work, in school and even within the family. The number one way to prevent illness is retaining immune health & Extrammune does so.

Uses

Strengthens the immune system and builds resistance to infections.
Ensures therapeutic effectiveness of antibiotic therapy when co-prescribed.
Promotes faster recovery from infections.
Acts as a personal bodyguard.

Indications

Indication of Extrammune Tablet:
Prophylactic:-
Immunity builder
Long term oral steroid therapy
Seasonal outbreaks of infective diseases – influenza, typhoid, malaria etc.

Therapeutic:-
As an adjuvant with anti-microbial therapy, particularly respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections.
As a monotherapy in PUO -pyrexia of unknown origin

Dosage

Dosage of Extrammune Tablet:
Prophylactic dose – 2 tablets once a day for 2-3 months.
Therapeutic dose – 2 tablets twice a day till the symptoms subside or as directed by the physician.
It is advisable to allow an interval of at least 30 min between the administration of Extrammune and other concurrent medications.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Ingredients of Extrammune Tablet:
Powder of –
Triphala guggulu – 100 mg

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice.

Mixed dry aqueous extract of –
Haridra – Curcuma longa – 250 mg – Turmeric is one of the very useful and famous Ayurvedic herbs. It is used in many forms and through many routes of administration, such as – nasal, oral, over the skin etc.
Guduchi – Tinospora cordifolia – 250 mg
Manjista – Rubia cordifolia – 125 mg – Manjishta is a famous herb for blood detoxifying. Is root is extensively used in many skin disease medicines of Ayurveda. It is called as Indian Madder in English. It is used in many oral Ayurvedic medicines and in Ayurvedic oils for skin conditions as well.
Trikatu – Zingiber officinale, Piper longum, Piper nigrum – 100 mg – A simple combination of ginger, black pepper and long pepper fruits.
Chitraka – Plumbago  zeylanica – 75 mg

Do’s and Don’ts

Do’s:-
Eat more fresh fruits & vegetables.
Exercise or play in fresh air.
Always drink boiled or purified water.

Don’ts:-
Do not eat stale and junk food.

Side effects

Side effects of Extrammune Tablet:
There are no known side effects with this medicine.
Over dosage may cause burning sensation of stomach.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy.
This product can be safely used during lactation period and in children for a limited period of few weeks time.
