Dysentrine Tablet: Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side Effects

Dysentrine Tablet is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Arya Aushadhi. It is an anti-diarrhoeal drug used in the treatment of diarrhea, dysentery and IBS – D. 

Indications

Indication of Dysentrine Tablet:
Amoebic & bacillary dysentery
Mucous colitis
IBS – D
Diarrhea

Dose

Dosage of Dysentrine Tablet:
1-2 tablets twice or thrice a day.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice.

Ingredients of Dysentrine Tablet:
Each tablet contains –
Kutaja Ghana – Holarrhena antidy sentrica – 100 mg
Bilva Ghana – Aegle marmelos – 100 mg
Daruharidra  –  Berberis aristata – 100 mg
Vatsakadi kwatha – 100 mg
Hriveradi kwatha – 100 mg
Amrabeejamajja – Magnifera indica – 50 mg – Mango seed Kernel – It is astringent and absorptive.
Shunti – Zingiber officinale – 25 mg
Shankha bhasma – 25 mg – It is an Ayurvedic medicine prepared from Conch shell. It is used in Ayurvedic treatment of gastritis, abdominal pain, malabsorption syndrome etc.
Dadimatwak – Punica granatum – 25 mg
Babblatwak – Acacia arabica – 25 mg
Shyonaka – Oroxylum indicum – 25 mg
Mocha rasa – Salmalia malabarica – 25 mg – Shalmali is one of the very useful Ayurvedic herb, used since thousands of years. Its botanical name is Salmalia malabarica. Bombax ceiba and bombax malabaricum are also its synonyms. It belongs to bombocaceae family.
Jatiphala – Myristica fragrans – nutmeg – 15 mg
Pippali  – Piper longum – 15 mg
Khadira – Acacia catechu – 15 mg
Sphatika – Potash alum – 5 mg
Rasa parpati – 5 mg – It is an Ayurvedic medicine, with herbal and mineral ingredients, in powder form. It is used in Ayurvedic treatment of malabsorption syndrome, dysentery, etc.
Yashada bhasma – 5 mg

Side effects

Side effects of Dysentrine Tablet:
There are no known side effects with this medicine.
Over dosage may cause constipation.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy.
This product can be safely used during lactation period and in children for a limited period of few weeks time.
