Dioset Capsule: Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side Effects

Dioset Capsule is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Shankar Pharmaceuticals. It is an Ayurvedic medicine that controls insulin level in the body. 

Dioset capsule are made of a time tested drugs having direct stimulation on organs of our body like- spleen, liver etc. This may be the reason for the stimulation of Islets of Langarhans and thereby controlling the diabetes.

It is a safe drug which can be taken along with allopathic treatment/insulin and also as a medicine for diabetes without any side effects.

Indications

Indication of Dioset Capsule:
Diabetes -IDDM/NIDDM
As a monotherapy or as an adjuvant/combined therapy.

Dose

Dosage of Dioset Capsule:
1-2 capsules twice or thrice a day before meals, or as directed by the physician.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based     on your doctor’s advice.

Ingredients of Dioset Capsule:
Each capsule contains –
Beejaka – Pterocarpus marsupeum – 1 g – sana, Beejaka, Vijaysar, Indian Kino tree are different names for Pterocarpus marsupium. It is extensively used for the treatment of diabetes, obesity, diarrhea, vitiligo, eczema, psoriasis etc, in Ayurveda.
Ashwattha – Ficus religiosa – 1 g- Ashwattha- Ficus religiosa is an Ayurvedic tree used for the treatment of cough, skin diseases, improving the skin complexion, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and improving the sexual potency. It is commonly known by the terms Bodhi tree, Sacred fig, Peepal tree etc.
Gokshura – Tribulus terrestris – 1 g
Amalaki – Embelica officinalis – 1 g
Haridra – Curcuma longa – 1 g – Turmeric

Side effects

Side effects of Dioset Capsule:
There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Over dosage may cause lowered blood sugar levels.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy.
This product can be safely used during lactation period and in children for a limited period of few weeks time.
