Dilapsin Tablet And Syrup: Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side Effects

Dilapsin Syrup and  Tablet are the proprietary Ayurvedic medicines manufactured by Solumiks Herbaceuticals. These correct digestive upsets.

Dilapsin is a complete digestive, which provides the radical treatment for common digestive complaints.

Indications

Indication of Dilapsin Syrup & Tablet:
Dyspepsia
Anorexia – Weak digestion. Cinnamon, long pepper, black pepper, leadwort – these herbs are very useful to promote digestion and improve food consumption.
Flatulence – ginger and Vidanga is useful to promote digestion and to relieve gas. Vacha is useful to normalize the peristalsis and improve bowel habits.
Other common digestive complaints
Chronic irritable bowel syndrome, associated with dysentery (IBS – D). Kutaja and Vidanga, used in this medicine is useful in this regard. Vacha ingredient is useful to relieve stress and improve brain functions.

Dilapsin Syrup:-
Each 5 ml contains extracts of –
Daruharidra – Berberis aristata – 100 mg
Swarnamukhi – Cassia lanceolata – 100 mg
Sharapunkha – Tephrosia purpurea – 100 mg
Vidanga – Embelica ribes – 100 mg
Pippali – Piper longum – 20 mg
Mishreya – Foeniculum vulgare – 50 mg
Ajamoda – Ptychotis ajowan – 50 mg
Jeeraka – Cuminum cyminum – 50 mg
Guduchi – Tinospora cordifolia – 25 mg

Jatamamsi – Nardostachys jatamansi – 20 mg
Vacha – Acorus calamus – 15 mg
Twak – Cinnamomum zeylanicum – 10 mg
Lavanga – Syzygiuma romaticum – 10 mg

Tablet:-
Each coated tablet contains extracts of –
Kutaja – Holarrhena antidysentrica – 200 mg
Daruharidra – Berberis aristata – 200 mg
Swarnapatri – Cassia angustifolia – 100 mg
Vidanga – Embelica ribes – 100 mg
Vacha – Acorus calamus – 100 mg

Sharapunkha –Tephrosia purpurea – 100 mg
Rasna – Pluchea lanceolata – 100 mg
Katuki – Picrorrhiza kurroa – 50 mg

Shunti – Zingiber officinale – 25 mg
Chitraka – Plumbago zeylanica – 25 mg – Improves digestion.
Maricha – Piper nigrum – 10 mg
Pippali – Piper longum – 10 mg – Promotes digestion, relieves bloating
Shuddha Gairika – Red ochre – 50 mg – Acts as a natural source of Iron. Has calming effect over stomach and intestines.

Guggulu – Commiphora mukul – 25 mg – it is a very good anti inflammatory and analgesic herb.
Dhatura – Datura metel – 25 mg – Dhatura – thorn apple is a poisonous herb used in many Ayurvedic medicines after purification method. Datura metel is used in the treatment of skin diseases, fever etc. It is used for external application and rarely for oral administration.

Dose

Dosage of Dilapsin:
Syrup:-
Infants – 2.5 ml thrice a day.
Children – 5 ml thrice a day.
Adults – 10 ml thrice a day, or as directed by the physician.

Tablet:-
2 tablets twice a day, or as directed by the physician.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice.

Side effects of Dilapsin Syrup & Tablet:
There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy.
This product can be safely used during lactation period and in children for a limited period of few weeks time.
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are diabetic. In diabetic patients, only if the blood sugar is under good control, then this medicine can be given.
