Cytozen Capsule: Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side Effects

Cytozen Capsule is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Charak Pharmaceuticals. It is used in the treatment of wide range of liver disorders.

Ingredients

Ingredients of Cytozen Capsule:
Each capsule contains –
Mandura bhasma – 56.25 mg
Arogyavardhini rasa – 112.5 mg – It is a traditional Ayurvedic medicine used for the treatment of liver diseases, fever, skin diseases, etc

Extracts of –
Kakamachi – Solanum nigrum – 67.5 mg
Chitraka – Plumbago zeylanica – 67.5 mg
Haritaki – Terminalia chebula – 112.5 mg
Vibhitaki – Terminalia bellerica – 112.5 mg
Amalaki – Embelica officinalis – 112.5 mg – hepato – protective, anti – oxidant.
Punarnava – Boerhaavia diffusa – 337.5 mg – anti – inflammatory, exhibits hepato – protective activity against toxic effects of alcohol.

Kumari – Aloe barbadensis – 337.5 mg – Aloe vera
Kasni – Cichorium intybus – 337.5 mg – reduces levels of liver enzymes during infection and protects liver cells, offers immuno – modulatory actions.
Katuki – Picrorrhiza kurroa – 337.5 mg – Hepato – protective, anti – oxidant, exhibits anti – viral activity.
Kalamegha – Andrographis paniculata – 337.5 mg – reverses the altered hepatic biochemical parameters.
Sharapunkha – Purpurea tephrosia – 337.5 mg

Indication of Cytozen Capsule:
Chronic viral hepatitis
Alcoholic liver disease
Drug induced hepato – toxicity
Fatty liver

Dose and duration of use

Dosage of Cytozen Capsule:
1 capsule twice a day with warm water, before food.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Do’s and don’ts

Do’s: –
Follow a simple, nutritious and bland diet with regularity in dietary disciplines.
Easily digestible food items like green leafy vegetables, fresh fruits and fruit juices should be preferred.
Drink boiled water.
Consume fresh buttermilk, cow’s milk, sugarcane juice and pomegranate juice.
Take proper physical and mental rest
Mild floor and free hand abdominal exercises are recommended.
Practice yoga and meditation.

Don’ts: –
Do not consume heavy foods without proper physical exercise.
Do not consume hepato – toxic agents like alcohol, chemicals and drugs like steroids and pain killers.
Avoid excessive intake of tea and coffee.
Avoid smoking, tobacco chewing and consumption of pan masala.
Avoid oily, spicy and irritant food items and non – vegetarian food.
Avoid fasts and protein rich food like confectionery and bakery items, milk products like curd, cheese etc.
Avoid irregular eating habits like excessive eating or excessive fasting.
Avoid physical and physiological stress.
Avoid day time sleeping or avoid sleeping immediately after consuming food.
Avoid a sedentary life style.

Side effects

Side effects of Cytozen Capsule:
There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children. Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy.
This product can be safely used during lactation period and in children for a limited period of few weeks time.

    Is there any problem, if i continue it further.

Recently my doctor advice me to consume 2nos capsules 2times a day, my sgot is 93 and sgpt is 87,ultrasound report is normal, with this am consuming vaiswanara vati(3 goli)nagaradi vati churnam(1/2 spoon), Haritaki Vati(2nos) on empty stomach 3times a day, and deepaniya vati(3nos)after food 3times a day.
    While my cholesterol levels normal, sugar levels h1bc is 5.5
