Reosto Tablet Uses, Dose, Ingredients, Side Effects

Reosto Tablet is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Himalaya Drug Company. It is used in the treatment of osteoporosis and low bone density.

Ingredients of Reosto Tablet: 
Powders of
Guggulu (commiphora wightii) (purified) 235 mg, – excellent anti inflammatory and analgesic herb.
Godanti bhasma 120 mg,
Rasna (vanda roxburghi) 50 mg,  – relieves pain and inflammation
Arjuna (Tetminalia arjuna) – 45 mg,- useful in fracture healing, source of calcium, also doubles as a cardiac tonic.
Ashvagandha (withania somnifera) 45 mg – improves muscle and bone strength and density.
Bala (Sida cordifolia) 45 mg – a nervine tonic, improves muscle and bone strength
Kukkutandatvak bhasma 35 mg – natural source of calcium
Processed in
Dhanyaka (coriandrum satium) – coriander
kumari (aloe vera), and
Vamsa(Bambusa arundinacea).

Indications

Indications of reosto tablet: 
Osteprorosis: Senile Osteoporosis, Postmenopausal osteoporosis, Immobilization following fractures.
Osteo arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis
Low bone density
Post viral fever, when the patient complains of body, muscle and joint pains

Dosage and Shelf life

Dosage of reosto tablet: 
2 tablets twice daily, followed by 1 tablet twice daily as maintenance dose, or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

There are no known recorded side effects with this medicine.
Seek medical advice for its usage during pregnancy.
It can be used in children and in lactating mothers.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Store in a cool dry place, away from direct sunlight.

How long can it be used?
It can be used for a period of 2- 3 months time, based on doctor’s advice.

Can it be used during pregnancy?
General advice is yes. But please consult a doctor before taking it during pregnancy.

Is it useful in knee pain?
Reosto is primarily a calcium supplement.
If the knee pain is due to low bone density, low body calcium, osteoporosis and if the pain is due to osteo arthritis, then Reosto helps to make the bones and joints stronger and thus helps to relieve joint pain in the long run.
It is not primarily an analgesic medicine (pain killer).
