Cognitone Capsule: Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side Effects

Cognitone Capsule is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Pentacare Ayurpharma. It is a memory booster, used to treat psychological disorders. 

Ingredients

Ingredients of Cognitone Capsule:
Each 500 mg capsule contains –
Mandookaparni [Centella asiatica] – 500 mg
Jyotishmati [Celestrus paniculatus] – 250 mg
Kooshmanda [Benincasa hispida] – 2 mg – Winter Melon or Ash gourd  is one of the best vegetable as well as a medicine. It is packed with phyto-nutrients and medicinal values. It is used for weight gain therapy, to improve intelligence and so on. In Indian system of medicine, it is hailed as the best among all the fruit-yielding creeper plants. It is called as Kushmanda in Sanskrit. It is also used in spiritual practices in some parts of India.
Ashwagandha [Withania somnifera] –500 mg
Shatavari [Asperagus racemosus] – 50 mg
Aragwadha [Cassia fistula] – 25 mg mg – Aragvadha is an ancient Indian herb, widely used in the treatment of skin diseases and in constipation. Its botanical name is Cassia fistula and it belongs to Caesalpinioideae family.  It is a tree that grows up to 25 – 30 feet.
Shankhapushpi [Convolvulus pluricaulis] – 500 mg
Trivrit [Operculina turpenthum] – 25 mg
Sariva [Hemidesmus indicus] – 200 mg – Indian sarsaparilla
Vacha [Acorus calamus] – 250 mg
Haridra [Curcuma longa] – 200 mg – turmeric
Yastimadhu [Glycyrrhiza glabra] – 750 mg
Pippali [Piper longum] – 100 mg – Long pepper fruit
Usheera [Vetiveria zizanioides] – 250 mg
Ghrita [Ghee] – 500 mg

Indications

Indication of Cognitone Capsule:
Mental retardation
Loss of memory
Epilepsy
Insanity
Congenital & developmental anomalies in children
Hyper-kinetism

Dose

Dosage of Cognitone Capsule:
1-2 capsules twice or thrice a day, or as directed by your Ayurvedic doctor.
How long to use?
It can be safely used for a period of 2 – 3 months time, with gradual decrease in dosage.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Diet To Follow

Have more of Ghee, coconut oil, Sunflower seed, almond, taro root, flaxseed oil, soyabean, pistachio,
Broccoli, carrots, chard, nuts, papaya, pumpkin, red peppers
Flax seeds, walnut, tofu, brussel sprout, cauliflower, winter squash, fish oil, egg oil, krill oil, chia seeds, camelia are fine to take.

Diet To avoid:
There are no diet restrictions. Please avoid all types of junk foods, excessive non veg foods, try to avoid or limit alcohol and smoking. Avoid aerated drinks.
Please prefer homemade food wherever possible.

Side effects, package

Side effects of Cognitone Capsule:
There are no recorded side effects with this medicine.
It is best to take this product under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, in an air tight container, away from direct sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.

Shelf life or expiration date: 3 years from the date of manufacture.
