Cholestrowin Capsule: Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side Effects

Cholestrowin Capsule is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Prabhat Pharmaceuticals. It is an anti-obesity drug. It is an anti-cholesteremic preparation. 

Ingredients

Ingredients of Cholestrowin Capsule:
Each 500 mg capsule contains –
Shuddha hingu [Ferula asafoetida] – 40 mg
Shuddha guggulu [Commiphora mukul] – 100 mg
Shilajitu [Asphaltum] – 100 mg
Krishna jeeraka [Nigella sativa] – 100 mg – Black cumin is an ancient Indian spice. It is widely in used after delivery care of the mother. It is good for eyes, bloating, vomiting etc. It is also used in children’s medicines. The little spice has huge health benefits with almost nil side effects.
Amrita satva [Tinospora cordifolia] – 100 mg – Guduchi Satva is an herbal powder, used in Ayurvedic treatment of burning sensation of feet, bleeding diseases etc. It is prepared from stem of a well known plant called Indian Tinospora. It is also known as Giloy Sat, Amrita Satva and Giloy Satwa.
Rasona [Allium sativum] – 60 mg – Garlic

Indication of Cholestrowin Capsule:
High serum cholesterol and triglycerides
Obesity

Dose, duration of use

Dosage of Cholestrowin Capsule: 
2 capsule twice a day with hot water.

How long to use?
It can be safely used for a period of 2 – 3 months time, with gradual decrease in dosage.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Side effects of Cholestrowin Capsule:
There are no recorded side effects with this medicine.
Over-dosage may cause gastritis, heart burn symptoms in people with sensitive stomach.
Store in a cool dry place, in an air tight container, away from direct sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.

Shelf life or expiration date: 3 years from the date of manufacture.
