Braintone Syrup: Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side Effects

Braintone Syrup is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Shree Dhanwantari Herbals. Tired brain comes to life by the use of this syrup. It is a known memory booster, safe for children also. 

Ingredients

Ingredients of Braintone Syrup:
Each 5 ml contains –
Ashwagandha [Withania somnifera] –150 mg
Brahmi [Bacopa moneiri] – 150 mg
Shankhapushpi [Convolvulus pluricaulis] – 150 mg
Jyotishmati [Celastrus paniculatus] – 150 mg – useful to improve memory, concentration.
Yastimadhu [Glycyrrhiza glabra] – 150 mg
Dhanyaka [Coriandrum sativum] – 50 mg
Jatamamsi [Nardostachys jatamansi] – 50 mg
Shatapushpa [Foeniculum vulgare] – 50 mg
Vidanga [Embelia ribes] – 50 mg – Vidanga is one of the powerful anti-parasitic herbs of Ayurveda. It is widely used against intestinal worm infestation. Its botanical name is Embelia ribes. It is called False black pepper., because it mimics pepper in appearance.
Sarpagandha [Rauwolfia serpentina] – 25 mg
Vacha [Acorus calamus] – 25 mg

Uses

Indication of Braintone Syrup:
As a daily supplement in school going children & persons of old age.
As a curative in mentally retarded cases & poor intelligence.
In conditions of anxiety & depression.
As an adjuvant to anti-convulsive therapy.
In conditions of enuresis, asocial behavior, stress, brain fatigue syndrome, language & learning disability.

Dose, duration of use

Dosage of Braintone Syrup:
Children – 1 tsp three time a day, or as directed by your Ayurvedic doctor.
Adults – 2 tsp three times a day, or as directed by your Ayurvedic doctor.

How long to use?
It can be safely used for a period of 2 – 3 months time, with gradual decrease in dosage.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Diet To Follow

Have more of Ghee, coconut oil, Sunflower seed, almond, taro root, flaxseed oil, soyabean, pistachio,
Broccoli, carrots, chard, nuts, papaya, pumpkin, red peppers
Flax seeds, walnut, tofu, brussel sprout, cauliflower, winter squash, fish oil, egg oil, krill oil, chia seeds, camelia are fine to take.

Diet To avoid:
There are no diet restrictions. Please avoid all types of junk foods, excessive non veg foods, try to avoid or limit alcohol and smoking. Avoid aerated drinks.
Please prefer homemade food wherever possible.

Side effects of Braintone Syrup:
There are no recorded side effects with this medicine.
This product is not suitable for people with diabetes.

Habit forming

Is this medicine habit forming? Does it create dependence? Can we stop it after a few months of usage?
This medicine is not habit forming. After using for the prescribed period, your doctor would gradually decrease the dose and eventually stop it. Follow your doctor’s instructions for gradual decrease of dose and stopping. Usually it does not cause any ill effects.
