Gid Plus Capsule: Uses, Dose, Ingredients, Side effects

Gid Plus Capsule is for chronic gastro-intestinal disorders. It is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Capro Labs Exports India Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore. Gid Plus is a multi-dimensional approach for treatment of chronic stubborn gastro-intestinal disorders which are not responsive to conventional treatment with antacis, H2 receptors antagonists, carbonoxalone derivatives etc.

Gid Plus has been well-accepted by the medical profession because of its high safety profile and high cure rates.

Efficacy

Efficacy of Gid Plus Capsule:
Has an antacid, anti-flatulent, anti-spasmodic and mild sedative action.
Checks hyper-acidity relieves spasm, pain and anxiety.
Promotes healing of ulcer
Checks bleeding due to peptic ulcer
Tones up liver function
Promotes and regulates digestion.
Treats constipation
Has antihelmintic action
Is safe and free from side effects

Indication

Indication of Gid Plus Capsule:
Anorexia – Aruchi Constipation – Malabaddhatha
Acidity – Amlapitta
Indigestion – Ajeerna

Composition

Composition of Gid Plus Capsule:
Each 500 mg capsule contains-
Vacha-rhizome (Acorus calamus)- 60 mg
Agnimukha choorna – 48 mg
Lasuna-pulp (Allium sativum)- 48 mg
Rajika-seed (Brassica juncea)- 24 mg
Jeeraka-seed (Cuminum cyminum)- 32 mg
Haridra-rhizome (Curcuma longa)- 48 mg
Haratala bhasma – 24 mg
Krishna jeeraka-seed (Nigella sativa)- 48 mg
Saindhava lavana (Potassium nitrate) – 24 mg
Yavanika-seed (Ptychotis ajowan)- 48 mg
Shatapushpi-seed (Peucedanum graveolens)- 24 mg
Panchagulam/eranda-panchanga (Ricinus communis)- 24 mg
Vidangadi choorna – 48 mg.

Dose

Dosage of Gid Plus Capsule:
2 capsules thrice daily, or as directed by the physician.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Habit forming

Is this medicine habit forming? Does it create dependence? Can we stop it after a few months of usage?
This medicine is not habit forming. After using for the prescribed period, your doctor would gradually decrease the dose and eventually stop it. Follow your doctor’s instructions for gradual decrease of dose and stopping. Usually it does not cause any ill effects.
