Suvarnavangam Bhasma: Uses, Dose, Ingredients, Side Effects

Suvarnavangam is used for the treatment of vomiting, anorexia, non-healing wounds, helminthiasis, premature ejaculation, nocturnal emission, cough, cold, bronchitis, asthma, emaciation, weight loss, and chronic bronchial diseases. It is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine, manufactured by Arya Vaidya Sala, Kottakkal.
Suvarnavangam is a mineral combination of purified forms of Suvarna [gold] and Vanga [tin].

Uses

Uses of Suvarnavangam:
It is light to digest.
Salt, astringent, coolant and dry in nature.
Improves taste, skin complexion, intelligence, strength and immunity
It is used in the treatment of vomiting, anorexia, non-healing wounds, helminthiasis, premature ejaculation, nocturnal emission, cough, cold, bronchitis, asthma, emaciation, weight loss and chronic bronchial diseases.

Method of preparation

Method of preparation of Suvarnavangam:
Vanga bhasma is prepared from purified tin:
Purified tin pieces are taken in a big iron pan, melted.
It is added with Apamarga (Achyranthes aspera) and Ashwattha (Ficus religiosa) powder, and ground well.
This powder is ground with Kumari (Aloe vera) or Shatavari (Asperagus racemosus) juice extract, and disc shaped cakes are prepared, dried and burnt in the absence of air in a closed container in 600-700 degree Celsius.
This process is repeated for 7 times. -Rasamritam.

Similarly for purification of Swarna bhasma:
It is mentioned in Ayurveda that Swarna bhasma is the best rejuvenative and anti-aging substance found on earth. This has properties to improve metabolism of blood formation, digestion, assimilation, excretion and purification and nervous co-ordination. Slowly consuming Swarna bhasma in dosage of 3-=62.5 mg for about 3-4 months leads to remarkable results. The body becomes as pure and shiny as Gold. –Astanga hridayam.

Dose, adjuvant

Dosage of Suvarnavangam:
125-250 mg, once or twice a day, before or after food. Or as directed by the physician

Adjuvant-
Guduchi Kashaya (Tinospora decoction),
Guduchi satva,
Madhu (Honey),
Ghrita (ghee) or
Haridra (Curcuma longa)

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.
