Nayanamritam Kuzhampu: Benefits, How To Use, Side Effects

Nayanamritam kuzhampu is an Ayurvedic eye drop used for the treatment of glaucoma, cataract, eye muscle related disorders etc. It is made with castor oil and sesame oil base.

It does not contain alcohol or glycerine.

Uses

Uses of Nayanamritam Kuzhampu:
An effective tool in the deterioration of vision. – Myopia
Useful during rehabilitation therapy in conjunction with other Ayurvedic remedies for eye care.
Glaucoma, Cataract, Iritis

Ingredients

Ingredients of Nayanamritam Kuzhampu:
Each 10 ml is prepared from –
Magadhaja (Piper longum) – Long pepper fruit –  0,024 g
Maricha (Piper nigrum) – Black pepper – 0,040 g
Haimavati beeja (Mucuna puriens) – Kapikacchu  – 0,096 g
Soma (Sarcostemma acidum) – 0,160 g
Rohini (Picrorrhiza kurroa) –  0,080 g
Kanaka – 0,040 g
Tuttha (Purified copper sulphate) – 0.040 g
Anjana –  0.040 g
Dhatrisara (Embelica officinale) – 3 ml
Madhu (Honey) – 10 ml

Usage

Usage of Nayanamritam Kuzhampu:
1-2 drops one once or twice a day, or as directed by Ayurvedic physician.
15 minutes after application, eyes can be washed with cold water.

Presentation: Dropper bottle of 10 ml.

Side effects, shelf life

Side effects: 
In some patients, it may cause mild eye irritation. Consult your doctor before using this product.

Shelf life: 3 years from the date of manufacture.
Once after opening the bottle, it is best to use it within 15 days time.

Nayanamritam Vartii
Nayanamritam vartii is similar to that of Nayanamritam kuzhampu in indication, main ingredients. But it is in vartii form, not an oil.

Indication:
This is excellent in eye ailments like inflammation, weakness, cataract, opacity, redness of the eyes and night-blindness.

Usage

Usage: To be rubbed into rose water for application as collyrium.

  1. What is Kachiappanam tailam for eyes? I do not find details in your website! I was prescribed to remove the black spots I get in my visual area. I also have very early stage of Cataract. I am a Vata prakruti person
