Svasahara leham is a herbal jam/paste – Ayurvedic medicine. It is an effective medicine useful in for respiratory disorders sich as asthma, cough and cold. 

Uses

Uses of Swasahara Leham:
It is indicated in – asthma, cough, hiccup, breathing constraint, sprain, vomiting, nerve disorders and similar troublesome ailments.
This overcomes the sudden weakness caused by falls, blows and hits.
Also useful in hysteria, faintness, typhoid fever and exhaustion of any cause.

Ingredients of Shwasahara Leham:
Balamula (Sida cordifolia)- 2.500 fg
Yavani (Carum copticum)- 1.875 g
Sita (Sugar)- 5.000 g
Kirata (Swertia chirata)- 0.039 g
Nagara (Zingiber officinale)- 0.625 g
Trijata (Cinnamomum zeylanicum, Eletaria cardamomum, Cinnamomum tamala)- 0.039 g each
Yavanitraya- 0.039 g each
Phala traya (Embelica officinale, Terminalia chebula, Terminalia bellerica)- 0.039 g each
Katu traya  (Zingiber officinale, Piper longum, Piper nigrum)- 0.039 g each
Kshara yugma-  Yavakshara and Swarjika Kshara – 0.039 each
Vacha (Acorus calamus)- 0.039 g
Yashti (Glycyrrhiza glabra)- 0.039 g
Kanta (Solanum surratense)- 0.039 g
Ambu  – 0.039 g
Rasna (Alpinia galanga)- 0.039 g
Anjana (Hardwickia binata)- 0.039 g
Ajaji (Cuminum cyminum)- 0.039 g
Kounti (Corchorus trilocularis)- 0.039 g

Dose

Dosage of Swasahara Leham:
800-1500 mg twice or thrice a day.
Maximum dose per day is up to 5 grams.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Side effects:

There are no recorded side effects with this medicine.
It should be taken under strict medical supervision. Take this medicine only if your Ayurveda doctor has prescribed it to you.
Store in a cool dry place, in an air tight container, away from direct sunlight.
Use this medicine only till the prescribed time and in the prescribed dose only.
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy, lactation and in children.
Over-dosage may cause gastritis, heart burn symptoms in people with sensitive stomach.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.

  1. Hi, if it is for a short period of 2 – 3 weeks, it is fine to use it.
    It contains kshara as ingredient and usually Ksharas are avoided during pregnancy, ‘for the best of my knowledge’.
