    • Sir, To prepare the arishta first the Kashayam is made and other drugs are added like Jaggery, Prakshepa dravyas etc.,

Aragwadha kashayam consists of the drug and Aragwadharistham on the other hand has a list of other drugs along with Aragwadha.

  1. Dear Dr my child and myself both r taking following medcns
Myself – KUTAJARISHTAM for ulceritive colitis
My daughter (araghwadarishtam mixed with indukantam kashayam for skin allergy and loss of appetite.
We are taking this medcn since a mnth…I would like to ask u tht we r not permitted to take any kind of alcohol even in medcns.
In above medcn I hve heard few % of self generated natural alcohol is present.
Pls explain what do u mean by self generated natural alcohol??
Is there any better substitute for these medcns in Ayurveda?

    • Hi, in Arishtam and Asavam, through fermentation process, alcohol is self generated. If you are not allowed to include any alcohol containing medicines, then Kutaja ghanavati tablet can be the substitute for Kutajarishta and Aragwadhadi kashayam tablet can be the substitute for Aragwadharishtam. Please consult your Ayurveda doctor for the right dose.
