Vidaryadi leham is an Ayurvedic medicine, manufactured by Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala. Itis a nutrition rich herbal jam, like Chyawanprash.  

Uses

Uses of Vidaryadi Leham:
Muscle wasting, bodyache, myalgia, bloating, gas trouble, Asthma.
Malnutrition, general weakness, fatigue.
Effect on Tridosha – It mainly balances Pitta and Vata Dosha.
Improves body weight and strength.
Useful in low digestion strength, cardiac complaints, piles and bronchial complaints.
Useful in post gym workout muscle recovery.
useful to improve sexual health.

Ingredients of Vidaryadi Lehyam:
Vidari (Pueraria tuberosa)- 0.211 g
Panchangula – 0.211 g
Vrishcikali – 0.211 g
Vrisciva – 0.211 g
Devahvaya (Cedrus deodara)- 0.211 g
Supyaparni – 0.211 g
Kandukari – 0.211 g
Jeevanapanchamula- 0.211 g each
Hrisva panchamula – Laghu Panchamoola – 0.211 g each
Gopasuta (Hemidesmus indicus)- 0.211 g
Tripadi – 0.211 g
Mudga (Vigna radiata)- 0.211 g
Masha (Phaseolus mungo)- 0.211 g
Guda (Jaggery)- 2.632 g
Musali (Chlorophytum tuberosum)- 0.421 g
Ela (Elattetia cardamomum)- 0.126 g
Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris)- 0.126 g
Vishwa (Zingiber officinale)- 0.126 g
Mulaka (Raphanus sativus)- 0.126 g
Tavakshiri (Curcuma angustifolia)- 0.126 g
Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera)- 0.126 g
Kana (Piper longum)- 0.126 g
Madhu (Honey)- 1.684 ml
Ghrita (Ghee)- 3.368 ml.

Dose, diet rules, shelf life

Dosage of Vidaryadi Lehyam:
Adult dose – 10 – 15 grams once or twice a day, after food, with a cup of milk or water.
Dosage for children below 5 years of age – 1 – 2 grams, once or twice a day, along with a teaspoon of honey or warm water / milk.
Dosage for children between 5 – 12 years of age – 5 grams once or twice a day along with a teaspoon of honey or warm water / milk.

Can non veg foods be taken while consuming this medicine?
Unless advised against, unless non veg food is causing the bloating, gas problem etc, it can be had while taking this medicine.

Shelf life: 3 years from the date of manufacture.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Side Effects

Seek your doctor’s advice if you are diabetic. In diabetic patients, only if the blood sugar is under good control, then this medicine can be given.

    Vidaryadi leham has been prescribed for my father aged 59 for fatigue, weakness, lost weight after having lung infection and low appetite. Is it still ok to digest Vidaryadi though he has low appetite or Vyaghryadi Lehyam is better? Pl. have feedback.

    I am very slim and Vata-pita type. I am looking for Weight Gain . I have bronchitis, acid reflux and low appetite. I have been reading your blog. You have mentioned that Vidaryadi Leham is useful in weight gain and so Brahma Rasayan too. You have also praised Chywanprash. Can you suggest which one can be the best choice for Weigh Gain without causing mucus formation and acidity increase. Or any other leham in that respect?

  5. Hello doctor! Am a postpartum mother at 6 weeks .I had taken kashayam, arishtam and balathailam tab.My kasham got over and I started non veg food.is it ok to have balathailam capsules ?
    And I Donno wanna gain weight but I have vidaryadi lehyam with me ?should I take it?if I take it, how much weight gain will be attained ?

    I have prescribed with doctor and she advice me to take vidaryadi leham for weight gain.
    1.after howling I can see the changes in weight gain
    2.will it only increase body weight or it will increase breast as well.
    3.after completed the proper doses will it reduce my weight again.

    Pls let me know ASAP.
